Title: Been away a while

I don't know when the last time I was here were, but I remember it was because of a debate about mother instincts :D Anyway, just wanted to re-introduce myself to those that don't remember me (probably most)
I'm much more secure about myself now. Been diagnosed with the "transsexual" (MTF) label, but I won't get any treatment because there's only one clinic in the country for hormones/surgery, but no one get in there if they also have mental illness, and I'm bipolar :\ So I'm forced to live as non-op, but have come out of the closet anyway, to family and some of the neighbours I've met, feel no problem about using makeup anymore and no one question it. And a gay friend said I was brave after spending a whole day in the city dressed with a skirt and some semi-fitting clothes (only reaction from people were some small girls that giggled, but I giggled back at them). So I try to live the small moments instead of thinking so much about all that I wish would be better.

Hi Anima
Welcome back to the forum.
I don't know in wich country you are living in but biploar is treatable with medicins isn't it?
If so, they can treat you and than there wouldn't be an excuse for them to do something about your GID.
But I'm just thinking out loud, a good thing is that you are secure about yourself and able to find a way to live the way you want.
Anyway, I just want to say, welcome back
hugs

Hi Anima, :icon_wave:
Welcome back! I've never met you before seeing that I am also pretty new here. This is the best place to be! :icon_joy:
I am looking forward to reading more of your posts.
I was diagnosed with bipolar a couple of years ago and was prescribed medication which have done wonders for me. I think what also really helped was the fact that I accepted that I "suffered" from GID. Once I accepted myself for who I was, life became easier, a lot easier. I suddenly had visions of where I belonged and could start planning the route. I am no longer on bipolar medication. I am generally a very happy person now.
Live for the small moments; they are the stepping stones to the bigger, more adventurous ones lying ahead.
As they say, "life is a journey, enjoy the ride"

Anette: It is, but I still have a mental illness, even if the meds work, so the GID clinic in Norway would refuse me, cause "maybe I have a delusion or something".
So yes, totally a good thing that I'm secure about myself I can express myself relatively freely. :)
Maegan: Thanks for warm words. Seems like you have had a similar experience then me, to feel more self-secure about accepting the gender that feels right, and I should think it would be more difficult to express the gender I have then to try to hide it, but it isn't.
Janet Lynn: The same message as last time, only I think the number is higher, at least I remember you :)

Welcome back Anima. There are a few of us here who are non-op because of one reason or another. We are forced to make the best of it and try to keep our heads held high. My reason is very little funds available so I concentrate on the little things I can comfortably do.
