I'm sorry to tell you :-( HRT has no effect on bone structure and will not reduce your height.

Myself and some other MTFs have not only lost a few inches in height, but in shoe size as well. See these threads here:

I've lost just about 1 inch in height over 7 months +/-. Mostly due to loss of muscle mass would be my guess as to why.

I haven't measured in a long time, I'll have to check it out... At 6'2" I'd definitely like to lose an inch or two

Unless you're still in puberty, your height won't be effected. No problem though, since tall girls are becoming more acceptable. Unlike short boys

From what I understand, yes, you can experience height and shoe size changes. However, I've read that is down to soft tissue changes such as in muscle mass and ligaments. Bones do not change generally once you reach full maturity.

I am 6'3" (in real measurements, not kilowhatsits) and have a dodgy disc in the back. It will be interesting to see if there are any changes I can notice if the discs are affected.

I really wish people wouldn't make blanket statements...
Your height will probably not be effected, and if it is, it won't be much, but you might lose an inch or even two.
I wouldn't worry about it though! Tall girls are cute!

I was so sure that height was unaffected by HRT but I can't deny the fact that I am 1 inch shorter than I was 6 years ago. I have lost LOTS of muscle mass and some cartilage... I can only assume that this is why.

Loss of height is due to the way the women's hormone cocktail handles the calcium. My family has a history of height shrinkage as they age, more so in my female relatives. My youngest sister informed me that she has osteoporosis, she's 50! My case so far that my muscle mass and strength has actually increased in the 4 1/2 months on the HRT with no loss of bone. Muscles, especially your heart are known to leech calcium from the bones in times of hunger and stress, I have neither of these problems. I never had this muscle mass increase happen in my 58 years! HRT effects each of the M to F transitioners differently. I am still 6' 2", but my younger brother shrunk an inch and he's on T for his different prostate problem.
