Title: To shave or not to shave
Post by: Hottodd68 on March 30, 2011, 07:06:20 PM
So I can't make up my mind. I've been on T for aroun 7 months. I have dark hair on my chin an mustache area but it does have a few bald spots still. So I'm trying to decide if I should keep shaving like normal or let it grow and see what actually grows in. What do u guys think?

Thanks

I'm too lazy to shave "all" the time, but letting it grow in now and then keeps me ontop of how much I need to shave...
You can always shave again later.

Shave it. Immature facial hair looks awful.

The patches that do grow well, grow them out really long and then braid them.

And then put little beads on them.

And then call yourself Jack Sparrow.

Uh, er, I mean, lots of times there will be small bald patches that never go away for years or at all. If you think you can make it look good or make it work, I say keep it.

I'm on spring break so I just let mine grow out for a week just to see what it looked like.  I'd compare it to about a high school freshman or sophomore-- there, but in just a few patches.  It's not the kind of thing I'd want to show off in public, so I'm going to keep shaving every day (plus I've decided shaving helps my acne.  Maybe it's the daily exfoliation it gives or maybe the moisturizer in the aftershave gel.  Who knows).  Pick a time you don't have to worry about it much (like some time off work or something) and let it grow out and then you can decide if it's worth keeping.

Myself, I have maybe 10 hairs on my mustache/upper lip area. This is the only facial hair that is visible if a person is a normal distance from me. It grows pretty slowly so I shave that about once every other week. My sideburns and jawline...well, I don't know what's going on over there and I think I would look pretty boss with L shaped sideburns or chops so I don't shave there.

@Devin87, if your exfoliant contains sialic acid then it's probably the exfoliant. If your after shave gel has some benzoyl peroxide in it then that would also help. Not sure if they tend to contain benzoyl peroxide or not.

I did break down and shave. I shave pretty much everyday because it's growing pretty fast. I think I'll give it maybe another month and then see how much is popping up. I'd really like my sideburns and gotee to grow in for now
