Title: Binder length ...
Post by: Logan on April 08, 2011, 10:18:16 PM
I'm 5'7 ... and I have the tank binder from Underworks.  I got the 'new' 'improved, longer' one ... but after a few washes ... I still have problems with it not rolling up, and I also have one of the t-shirt ones from them, which is even shorter.  WTH do you guys do about it?  I'm thinking about getting the 'binder suit' and strategically placing some velcro or something around it to hold another binder down.  I don't really know though.. soo ... what do the other not so short guys do??

Thanks ... ALSO ... not small chested ... to the point where when I want to look good ... I wear BOTH binders at once ... and usually end up duct taping them down around the hips ... which isn't to bad, until it finally starts to roll, or slide up ... or the tape starts to rub on the skin.  Any ideas for better hip binding??  Also ... swimming tips ??

.. I had my first T shot last monday ... now ... hurry up and get rid of the fat on my hips .. (which I'm lucky enough to have smaller set hip bones, just carrying a lot of fat there ... which was very proven to me the first time I taped around them).

i'm 5'11" and every long binder i tried was either way too short or rolled up and i could do nothing about it. the only solutions i can think of:
a) get a short binder and a pair of compression shorts (those you get in female underwear sections, targeted at ), something like those you see here http://www.b2b-trade.net/shops-us/category/Underwear/2.html (http://www.b2b-trade.net/shops-us/category/Underwear/2.html)
you can get them for like $15 at target and walmart i believe. it's the more comfortable option because it's not just one long piece that always digs in somewhere, and also the compression pants are a made of a much more skin-friendly material.

b) get a custom-size binder.  Danae makes custom binders and you can even get a binder that gets wider at the bottom etc. if your hips are much wider than your chest. She's in the Netherlands but she usually sends out custom binders within a day or two after ordering and she's really nice and knowledgeable.

I've tried the compression shorts route, and half the time it still rolls up.  :-/

I had very little problem with roll-ups when I wore the Cotton Concealer from Underworks. It has a real hem at the bottom. But also, I didn't have much of a waist or big hips, so I didn't need to worry much about the "hourglass" issue that is largely responsible for rolling up. My buddy, who is pretransition, has one of the Cotton Concealers but has pretty big hips--and he apparently has some trouble with rollups.

FYI, the Cotton Concealer does not compress quite as...heroically...as some of the nastier binders. So I used two. Fortunately, I didn't have to do it for long.

Well ... my hips are narrower than my shoulders, but I do have a dip in my waist, so I still get that hour glass going on ... I need to hit the gym and get my abs back ... meh

T will usually take some of the fat off your hips and put muscle and fat in your belly, but it usually takes time to...straighten you out.
