Does anybody use hops as hormone replacement ? Hops are the strongest known phyto-oestrogens that exist.
I consider myself to be rational when it's about 'magic' methods. I believe real medication is many times very strong and potent and also the only option. Nevertheless I have stopped underestimating nature. A while ago I discovered the benefits of hops. Hops is what beer is made off. Their potency is what surprised me most. They cost almost nothing if you buy them in the right place, they give you boobs, they help if you can't sleep and when you wake up you have a sharper mind, and they have an overall ^positive effect on your health.
Only bad thing I noticed was that they make you melancholic. And maybe it takes a bit longer but they sure work. Otherwise, only positive effects. You don't need a doctor also to prescribe it to you. Maybe the question is 'Are you sure you're ready ?' Because there is no turning back. Once you have your boobs, you have them.

One would need enormous exposure to hops for it to have any significant effect, although there is a linkage between beer consumption and man boobs. Drinking that much beer would not generally be good for you especially if you plan to transition.
In the old days in the UK Maids of Kent were considered to be buxom and this was attributed to them working in the hop fields throughout the summer, boosting their estrogen levels. Perhaps a summer job picking hops may be beneficial!
I'd stick with regular estrogen.

So that's why beer swilling men develop a beer breast where their stomach should be
The concentrations of oestrogen we are on would make you be eating fields of hops to compensate. Some of this mythology comes from herbal stores that try very hard to get vulnerable consumers to buy rubbish in the hope it will work. It doesn't. And any self medication of even herbs can be very dangerous. many interact with other drugs you may be on to detrimental effects. That is one reason we have endocrinologists on our support team.
There are no short cuts, there are dangerous short cuts if you live in a country were you can self medicate but it is dangerous. We are talking about hormones that have significant effects on many physical systems.
Find a good therapist, medic and endo and put yourself in their hands. You will end up happier with better results.

I'm with Cindy on that one.
I have yet to see anything else that works. Rather stick to the genuine item as prescribed by your endo/doctor.

Quote from: Maegan on April 23, 2011, 05:09:56 AMDitto. I tried the phytos last year. They didn't do anything to my PSA levels, the saw palmetto was supposed to be a testosterone inhibiter, but actually jacked the PSA numbers up to a high of 5.8 ng/ml, well above the trigger numbers of 3.0-4.0 for a prostate cancer biopsy. The fenugreek tablets and salve only made my breast grow to a sub-A with massage applied. One of those herbs, or a combo, gave me a false hypothyroid indication and jacked-up my chloresterol numbers.

I just got my latest blood draw results today! After 5 months HRT, my PSA is at 0.8, the lowest since taking that test at age 52 (1.2 then). My thyroid and cholesterol numbers are now in the normal range, the liver is ok after taking all of that Spiro. This is after eating like a pig these past 5 months!
Herbs will cause some breast growth in some males, the other feminizing features are acquired only by the real thing.
I will reiterate this warning: DO NOT TAKE PHYTOS WHILE ON HRT! The phytos though weaker in action, will latch-on to the estrogen receptors more than the estrogen does. It may inhibit breast growth and other secondary features to appear.

Yes, after observing some of those who have bigger boobs than I do. I am jealous, but not from their over-extended gut!
