HI everyone, I was shaving the other day and my wife was in the room with me, after I shaved I was commenting on how nice and smooth her face was and I thought it would be good time to get her to undstand a bit of how it feels to have GID. So I asked her after telling her how soft her face was would you like to have wiskers like me and she looked at me with a look of discust and then realized what I was doing and she said I can kind of understand now.
Then I told her it gets worst then that, she hates her period as most girls do and I am sure I would hate my period if I was born in the right body but I still want a period none the less, anyway I told her to think about how she hates her period (not the physcal part) she hates it all, so I said what if you felt this way (when she had her period) all the time, there is not break or vacation or I am glad your gone see you next month, it is here all the time.
well now she said she gets it even more and she said it must suck to have GID, I said yes it does but because I have your (my wife) support and understanding it makes it a lot easer and se smiled and said she is jelous of my butt, she seems to like it more than hers but I like hers more than mine ;D
I am so thankful for a wife like her ;)
Aloha
Jennie

Liking each other's butts more than your own is a sound basis for a relationship ;D - good for both of you for talking about things that way.

As I have previously said in the past to other friends who are in a similar situation, I cannot even begin to fathom how it must be coming out to spouse and having kids on top of that. Its really great that you have such a supportive wife!!

Comparing it to a period is a good idea hahah.
You always feel more uncomfortable going to the washroom, you worry that you will leak and other people will notice it, you have to turn down sex but don't want to explain why, you're moody, defensive and get mad at cis gendered males because they will just never understand what it's like but they blame it on everything you do.

Still getting red dealth and using the men's room is a fear I have. Fearing a drop of blood will showup on somethings that can be seen when I have a change a tampon. Starting T will be great.

I said to someone I'm out to, that it is sort of like living in Apartheid era South Africa and being officially regarded as White when you knew you were not. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop, and your world to collapse around you.

I've never been married so its been hard sometimes for me to understand people in relations when they decide to transition. This story sheds some light for me on that pain. It's an easily understood explanation

I told a close female friend of mine, imagine waking up tomorrow in my body then having to live the rest of your life a lie knowing who you really are all that time. That's what I feel every day. She understood what I meant.
