Well here it goes.
As you all get to know me better, you'll see that Im a huge risk-taker. I take risks all the time. I love it.
So, I live in this little part of town on a hill. At the top of the hill is a church that has a wonderful program called Clothing Closet. Basically, the 1st and 3rd saturday of every month from about August until June, they open up this expansive room and, from 9-noon, serve brunch (which is usually homemade and pretty decent) and they allow people to browse through a LOT of stuff. It's all free, since it's all donated. You get two plastic wal-mart bags that you can fill. Well, I got a bunch of clothes and was able to complete about four different outfits.
After I picked out a nice outfit (I was on a bit of a denim kick today) consisting of a pear of jeans (really guy's jeans, but you couldn't tell the difference. Seriously....), a white t-shirt (again, guys, but that didn't matter to me a whole lot), a denim jacket, and a pair of black skate shoes (that's all I had), I went downtown to attend a civil war re-enactment of our own piece of national history.
Today, 150 years ago, the Logan Guard mustered in Monument Square (at the time, it was just the town square), and marched 1/2 mile to the Lewistown Junction train station. It's kinda cool that our town (ha drug capital of the central-pennsylvania area) has that little thing going for it, not to mention like 14 Army Generals.
Anywho, so, for the better part of the day, I got to walk around dressed the way I feel. It was an enormous boost of confidence that one day, I really can make a future for myself.
I also was able to match the pitch (better for the choir side of my life rather than trying to achieve a female voice) of the lead singer of my favorite techno artist, Groove Coverage, for the duration of their song Na Na Na. I had each one head on, and stayed consistent. I've always had problems with controlling pitches in my falsetto, so this is momentous good news.

Ooohh Hawaii! I've always wanted to go there. Maybe some day.
