CARSON CITY – By an 11-10 vote, the Senate has passed a bill to prohibit discrimination on the job against transgender workers.
Sen. David Parks, D-Las Vegas, said the protection would be added to the list of categories that can be investigated by state Equal Rights Commission.
"Transgender individuals are persons who identify with a gender opposite of which they were born and who express their gender in ways that may not be considered typical," Parks said.
