I recently read a news story about a husband and wife in Toronto who have chosen to keep the gender of their 4-month-old baby a secret from family and friends and whoever else may come into contact with the child.
The couple says they intend to let the child, whose name is Storm, choose its identity for itself, without undue influence from society. They claim that children are able to make meaningful decisions at very young ages.

That's weird, it's not like GID is something to expect. I guess there's no harm......
On another note, I don't like how the baby is refered to as "it" in the article. I don't even like when dogs are refered to as "it".

I didn't see it in this article but in other places this has been reported people are calling for DSS (CPS) to get involved and take the children from the parents.
All because the parents refuse to tell others about the genitals of a baby.
Lets think on that...
People are becomeing slavering madmen over not being allowed to know what is in the babies diaper.
Why is it so important for people to know if you have an innie or an outie?
Does it matter so much that these parents should not be allowed to have their children?
Personaly I think the parents choice is a good one but I think that to preserve their family they need to back off their ideals and disclose the childs gender. If they would have not made a big media deal of this they would not be facing this scrutiny.

When our children were babies we consciously eschewed the pick and blue jumpers and put them each in yellow. People could get rather frustrated not knowing if they were boys or girls. I still think the kids were better off not being forced into male/female stereotypes at that early age.
