Ask Matt Monday: Testosterone and Aging

A reader writes: "It occurs to me that cis guys naturally lose testosterone in their older year. What about us 'older' trans guys? What do we do? Do we reduce our dose? Stop taking T? Do you or your readers have any knowledge at all about this?"
After my usual disclaimer, which is "As you know, I'm not a doctor" (I have to say this), I will say that I don't have a definitive answer. I am 56, and my doctor has never told me to reduce my dose because of aging.

I'd really love to know the answer to this! I started T after my 30's and I think it's a super important point.

Not all MAAB have decreased T. Mine was high right up until the spiro brought it down at age 55.
I'm not even really sure that low T at that age is even a natural thing but is rather brought on by the poor diet, obesity, and bad health practices of the vast majority of people today.
