Worst side-effect ever and I've been putting up with this for awhile. Taking aspirin or ibuprofen all the time isn't really a solution, what should I do?

I got headaches too, but eventually they passed.
Let me see, make sure you are well hydrated. Headaches could be caused by not drinking enough fluids. My other recommendation is to talk to your doctor about it. Maybe you can lower the dosage?
Hugs!

Paul Chek says that dehydration is absolutely rampant in the Western world. He says that we should drink each day half our body weight in fluid ounces. So if you weigh say 200lbs then you should drink 100 fluid ounces which is 5 British pints or 6 American pints.

Thanks, I'll try both of those things. I didn't actually know dehydration could cause headaches and I probably don't drink enough water but I have a small phobia about tap water and bottled water because of all of the fluoride and probably a lot of other chemicals in it. I have a water filter but I'd have more peace of mind if I could test the water somehow.
*Hugs back* ;D

spiro can dehydrate you being a diuretic, hopefully it is something as simple as that.
I think headaches are a listed as a potential side effect of spiro though.
Maybe look at other things too that may cause headaches - like have you had your eyes checked recently? Might just be co-incidence with the spiro.

With apologies in advance, I will disagree with everyone else and suggest you phone your prescribing Dr now. As in immediatly.
Once you have his reassurance, then you might look at other solutions, but without a medical opinion, I would call this a medical emergency, until you are told otherwise by a Dr who knows about this drug and you.
Please get back and say how you get on.
