ROBINSON: This year focuses on transgender?
PRICE: That's the spotlight program that we're doing on our 35th anniversary, yes.
ROBINSON: Why did you choose that subject matter?
PRICE: Well, I think that over the past 10-15 years, in LGBT cinema I think that transgender films had some of the most exciting stories to tell – the most timely, the most interesting, and we were really wanting to support the transgender community as much as possible. So when we've noticed this large number of great movies coming out and about, or by the trans community, we wanted to celebrate that on our 35th anniversary. So I think this was kind of a perfect fit.
It's the longest-running and largest LGBT film festival in the world, yes. And we're also proud we're one of the largest film festivals of any kind in the United States
One of the years I worked there they had the premire of TransAmerica, and this year its the theme of the festival.
This year we have a spotlight program on transgender cinema... This year focuses on transgender.

But do keep on about how the LGBT community doesn't do anything for us.
