Two months ago, just as had begun planning my name change for July or August, I was summoned to jury service under my male name, and I know there would have been trouble if I showed up as female with all Male ID. I actually got put on a jury and the case took three weeks of courtroom testimony and then two days to reach a verdict. (It was a contract case, so no hanging of either of the parties was allowed, even though it was tempting.)
The problem for the three weeks plus has been that by the time I got home, putting on my makeup and doing my hair was just too much trouble. This thing exhausted me mentally to a point where I almost have to say that I did not give a flying toot about about my gender changeover. Today was my first day back at my normal ??? retired/transition life style. I managed to catch up on house work, and then after dinner, it hit me what I had NOT done for the last three and a half weeks. I had not put any makeup on the whole time. I needed a makeup FIX!!! :o Luckily, it only required a little bit of lipstick, eyeshadow, eyebrow tint and my new little wiglet to make my bangs look good, but now that I have done it, I feel all the STRESS of the last few weeks draining away!! WHEW!! Never knew the stuff was such a great anti anxiety remedy.
Anyone else ever had a makeup or dress up session do that for them?
Yes. If I'm stressed from a bad day, a bath and some pampering can work wonders.

How life changes when you transition. Several years ago I looked forward to putting on makeup etc, now I look forward to the day when I don't need to....not that I'm complaining....lol
The first change I made appearance wise was when I started to wear mascara all the time. Now it is a part of my daily routine after shaving.
I've been wearing the fringe and sides (bangs) hairpiece in my avatar for nearly 6 months now. I feel odd without it now, bit like getting into a car with no seat belts.
Also the same with my forms and bra, since I retired and started full-time. Tried working in the garden last week without them because it was quite warm, and felt strange.

Amen to that!
Makeup or Bras.
Just one entire day with neither would be such a blessing! lol
