Title: A cute day worth sharing
Post by: Cindy on June 23, 2011, 03:27:45 AM
I know some of the girls, and boys, are still nervous about shopping etc. No matter how much we try and reassure you. OK this was me today. I went a place called Harbour Town. You can Google it.
It is a cut price shopping precinct in Adelaide. I was wearing track pant, a jumper, a coat, and of course my pink runners. I had no make up on and I wasn't wearing a wig.
First stop was a jewellers, Do you have a diamond ring that will go with my wedding band? And it has to be less than $200, No problem darling said the assistant, we looked for at least 20 mins. Honey we will find one for you, Whenever
I apologised. Got one really cute. You'll be wearing it out from the shop? Yes. So it wasn't boxed or anything.

Wandered off. Saw Barkin's a female clothes shop, had an 80% of sale.  ::) Could I walk past, looking at some skirts and the assistant happened to be there and she asked straight out, 'What size are you?' Usually an 8 or a 10 (Australian sizes). Try the
10 because these are quite a small cut. So I did just walked into the change room and tried it on, too tight ???. How did that fit, too tight do you a 12. Sorry no, it's and of run sale and we only have the left overs. But there some nice dresses over there.

I had a look but nothing I fancied. Bye she said.

Next shop was Portaman's saw a skirt to die for. Size 10, straight to the change room without asking permission. It fits :icon_chick:. I step outside the change cubical and almost collide with a shop assistant coming from the opposite direction.

Did that fit OK she asked, yes I'll take it but would like to look for a top to go with it. So she takes me around the shop looking at tops but nothing I liked.

I'm paying for the skirt. "It's my first day working today, and I loved that skirt when I looked around the shop. We then had a chat about the fun of working in a clothes shop. Cute nice girl, about 17 yrs old.

Next I saw the boots to die for ::) ::), Italian leather , reduced from $250 to $70. Right in, and trying them on, the shop assistant comes over, "They are a bargain" Do you have the sister to this one I ask. She brings it over and I put that on, great.

I stand up and walk around the shop with 4 men looking at as if I was from planet X. Back to where my stuff is and I take out my new skirt.  Do they go with this, I ask the girl for conformation, Oh yes, and that is a beaut skirt, you'll gorgeous in that
and those boots. Sold. ::)

Of to Glenelg and I decide I need my eyebrows shaped and my back waxed. I go to Vani-T as I have had my brows done before in a different Vani-T salon.

I go to the desk, Hi How can I help you. I want a back wax and eyebrow shape if there is a chance, I don't have a  booking. I'll just check, sorry we are booked out, can fit you in on Saturday, No I'm busy Saturday, another girl pipes in, Have you tried
and starts to mention a few other places in the area.
I start to say, I'll try one of those and Louisa walks in from the therapy area. " I though I recognised your voice Cindy" Other girls do a quick look at me. I'm doing a face mask on another client and it needs to set for 15mins. I'll wax you
during the wait. Lead into the room, take my top off, and she returns, been waxed before? No. It might be painful she says. I've had my face lasered, pain doesn't exist once the upper lip has been done.

Yes she says I had a XXX laser last week and that hurt like hell, and then of course boyfriend decides it is randy night ::) ::)

Waxing did not hurt at all.

Lets see your eyebrows, Mmm yes they need a touch up but I honestly don't have time today.

I get dressed and pay.

Bye, I say

Bye Cindy, and each of the beauticians say good bye to me as I pass them on the way out. And in a nice manner not an insulting tone.

So what is the point of this post?

Be yourself. Be faithful to yourself. Treat people as you want to be treated. Be courteous and friendly.

The world is not the horror pit that less experienced girls and boys think it is.
I hope this post helps some people to pluck up the courage and be themselves. And if you ever need some support to get over a block feel free to pm me, You Know my name.

Hi Karen,

My CC just weeps . Get over it girl I tell it.

To finish off I went to dinner in my new skirt and boots, and top and undies of course :embarrassed: etc

I was alone but I'm used to that, a new restaurant for me. Front of house male manager greeted me with welcome Madam, a table for ?

The waitress said I love those boots can I see them? A bit cheeky but so what. I stood up, and that skirt is gorgeous where did you get it?
Ahmm I think I bonded yet again with another woman.

Strange world.

I no longer have a single hesitation. And I wonder why?

Good to hear you had a good day shopping.. Mum and I are banned from Harbour Town.. We spend too much. I think you have my number, so next time you are dining alone, give me a call..

I no longer have a single hesitation. And I wonder why?

Because now you know.  When you didn't know your mind could make up all sorts of stuff, but once you do know you find a lot less to worry about.

That is so true! Our minds can make up some really terrible stuff which only hinders progress.

Cindy, sounds like a great day. From what I've seen of you on these forums, you deserve every bit of happiness in life.

Passed on to today and managed to get the eye brows done.

Another nice day, she was totally cool with me and had an apprentice with her.

She just asked how do you want the brows? As feminine as possible I replied. Great job for $25

Well  Cindy, I didn't have time to get to Chaddy, thanks to the Melbourne traffic and the wait at the Endo's, but had a great day nonethe less.  Got a new fringe hairpiece though on the way home, so not a total loss!
