How long before the T runs out of your body before your next shot? I get worried when I'm late with my shots. I know I asked a question about being a day late, but I'm just wondering how long when you get your shot, that, that dosage stays in your body before it runs out? Is it until your next schedule shot, or does it last longer in your body? I feel like my body will revert back to female if I'm so many days late. But in reality I know that it probably won't be like that, I just get nervous.
Unfortunately, no one can tell you that except a blood T level test because the half-life (how long it stays in your system) of testosterone can vary vastly from guy to guy . I personally am not faring well with bi-weekly injections. I switched to every 12 days and even still during the last couple days I have pelvic cramps, my skin breaks out, and I get irritable and emotional. I'll probably be switching to weekly once my doctor okays it.
If you're not experiencing any 'trough' symptoms like I described, it's possible your T levels are still fairly level after missing a shot by a few days. It would take awhile for any changes you've already had to reverse, I would think, although the best rate of changes is usually achieved through keeping T levels at a consistent level. I was told by my doctor before beginning T that in her experience treating FTM's, if menstruation hasn't stopped within 5 months, it's usually because T levels are dropping too much between shots, thus not suppressing the ovaries enough. She said switching to weekly shots will often remedy that.
Like the other guy said it varies from person to person and will depend on your dose.
I do it every other week and in the 2 or 3 days leading up to my shot I get tired as hell and emotional and all that... >:( I guess that's an indication it's running low.
Thanks guys. I get my shot every other week and I never feel any different days before I get my shot. When I'm on a scheduled I'm not worried about the T running out of my body. When I go off schedule I worry. I just worry that my face will revert back to female. I was supposed to get my shot today, but I'll be getting it Tuesday instead, so my shot will be 2 days late.
Two days shouldn't produce any noticeable effects in your face.
I switched to weekly injections because my depression bothered me toward the end of each two-week cycle. If you don't feel different at the end of your shot cycle, maybe you don't need to change anything. Do what works for you.

Edit: I was just looking at my shot dates and I had my last shot 3 days early. Even though this shot will be 2 days late, it should equal out since I got my last shot early...right? I hope so.

Just as your body masculinizing took time, so will your body reverting to feminine featured if you stop taking T so it's nothing to worry about. A few days late or early is fine because cis men's T levels experience the same minor fluctuations.
