Title: Two weeks without Spiro...Warning!
Post by: Joelene9 on July 04, 2011, 09:58:02 PM
I got back from a two week travel vacation and didn't use the Spiro during that time.  I didn't use it because I wanted to go longer periods without a head call, especially traveling through the deserts.  Well, this morning I woke up and found that the 'morning wood' as it is called here was in progress.  I hadn't have this condition in seven months.  The thing stretched the skin so much that it caused dark stretch marks with some bleeding, OUCH!  A little bit of Neosporin did quell the pain though.  The estrogen/progesterone regimen evidently was no match of the recurring testosterone level.  I'm back on the Spiro, hopefully this won't recur in the morning.
I'm getting a little testy, sorry, it's a bad pun!  I just don't want to return to the old me.

I was off Spiro and Estrogen in preparation for surgery and did not get this problem you describe.

Ashley,
Probably that you were on Spiro longer than me.  Also I may still have problems with the prostate that may of caused this, there are a few hormones this gland gives off that would cause erections.  The prostate cancer scare was my primary concern starting HRT, My GID is still second.  Everything is back to 'normal' now.  You younger ones may not experience this kind of thing anyway.

Why did you have concern about HRT?  Spiro and Estrogen decreases the risk of prostate cancer.

UM...  This is why I took it!  The prostate problem was the #1 reason I took it.  Sorry for the confusion.  I am not out of the woods yet on this.

This is too much of a "Your Mileage May Vary" question.  It depends on how your body reacts to your meds, the dose of your meds, your hormone levels pre-meds..... too many variables to give a full and accurate quantitative answer.

Booo because i had to take the highest levels of spiro and fin just to suppress my above average amount of T and now i am estro i hope the T isnt blocking my estro.
