A reader writes: "I am 24, American, was assigned as female at birth, but consider myself an androgyne rather than either typical sex.

"I am already physically very androgynous, but I am interested in getting on T mainly for the purpose of lowering my voice a bit to make it even more ambiguous to as to "which sex" I might be (I like to use my appearance to challenge gender assumptions). As is it, depending on what I'm wearing, I occasionally pass as male even after I have spoken, but I'm assuming that in such cases people think I'm a teenage boy due to my pitch.

i think he/she is playing russian roulette if they wanna take T "to see which voice sounds better."  T drops the vocal box so they may be in for a surprise if they take it for long.
