Post by: wannalivethetruth on July 10, 2011, 12:51:30 PM
I haven't took any other pills since I've been on hrt, because I'm scared it will effect them doing its work.. in talking about over the counter pills, such as tylonal and advil. will this effect my hrt? Im looking at taking biotin, but I'm worried that will effect my hrt. I meet with my doc next month and will ask him, but I'm coming to you for your own experience with this. does hrt still work with these pills if taken? Does these over the counter pills alter your hrt, to the point where its useless? Thnx loads

I've never seen any problems, but then again my use of OTC or even prescription painkillers was short-term use only.  My experience covers roughly the past 20 years...

As with ANY medication, you obviously want to watch what is consumed simply because of the stresses that can be placed on the liver and other organs as it breaks down the pharmaceuticals.

I take biotin, a multivitamin and fish oil. It doesn't seem to affect my HRT. As far as advil and tylenol, I don't see why short term use (to help with a headache or various other pain) would affect your HRT.

Ask the pharmacian.
