Hey this is a random question, but I was wondering if anyone has had experience with hormone therapy and pets. I'm FTM and have a dog and was just wondering if anyone who's had experience knows if it'll possibly confuse/bother my dog if I (I hope and pray) go on T at some point since they could sense the change in personal scent/chemistry.
I wondered the same, and I would assume it's the same for me (MTF), as we're both replacing hormones. Thankfully, at no point during my transistion has my dog ever seemed confused, or treated me as a new person he's just met, and so far I've been full time for about 3 months.
I think as long as your pets see you everyday, they probably don't notice (or care) as long as they get their food and treats!
There is a thread on this topic ... it was a while ago ... and from what I remember your pets adjusted without a glitch ... my son has been on T for a year now and our dogs don't appear to have changed around him
I've been on hormones for nine months and my dog didn't notice or care. Only when I use a higher pitched voice does it seem to confuse her a little.
Don't worry about it. I have seem at least two other threads about this and no one had a problem.
My cat follows me everywhere, sleeps on my crotch, and rubs herself all over my beard every morning.
