Title: biotin for hair growth
Post by: Elijah3291 on July 14, 2011, 08:59:18 PM
i just read up some on biotin, a vitamin that is said to promote hair growth, and make hair healthier, just wondering if anyone has used it and seen results, also interested if it works for body hair too, because my body hair is coming in so slow, im almost 10 months on T and still less hairy then a lot of pre T guys. I also want to grow my head hair out, so maybe it could help with that too.

I don't know about biotin, but on the hair growth front, men vary hugely in how much body hair (and how coarse/fine) they grow - it's down to genetics as much as anything else, and you may just not be as hairy a man as you'd like to be. Plus a lot of this bush sprouts more later in life, so be patient :). I'm trying to get rid of mine, sigh.

I have never used biotin myself but I done research into it. Most of what I read leads me to believe it speeds up hair growth by a little bit for some people but not everyone. It is one of those things where just a little bit will make a difference and you might already be getting some in your normal diet. A common side effect of it is cystic acne which I don't imagine is a very fun side effect. It certainly works for some people but I have never tried it.

Something that I have tried and I do like for hair growth is Rooibos Tea. Applied as a rinse to your hair it can make it grow a little faster. People report various increases in hair with the most seeming to be an additional 1/2 inch of growth a month. Plus it makes your hair very soft and healthy looking.
