Doctors might whine and complain, but honestly if you considering hormones it's a good thing in the short term... As your effectively distrupting your original puberty, and if you then start hormones and gain abit of weight it will goto all the right places.

Oh, oh, now looking at the other end of the trans-female spectrum... if you are much older.
I guess those male T-bones (pun intended) must be a *lot* heavier. Also much more muscle weight I should think - when just looking at my shoulders.

Take my 5' 6.5", and 75kg! Yet would not say I'm fat in any way (size 10 - 12 at the bottom, 14 on top). In fact I'd lost about 10kg since starting transition and HRT.

It sounds a world of difference to the OP that looks very well within female range.
So, I do think younger age MUST make quite some difference when answering the subject question, yes?

118lbs? I wish I could hit that. I've been stuck at 110-115lbs for so long, 5'6 tall, 18 now.

Currently your BMI is about 19.6, which puts you in the healthy (though light) range of weight, so you don't need to worry.

That's the answer!

Zoey, I think you're in the right place weight-wise.  And once you start gaining weight when you're on HRT (if you decide to gain weight, that is) it'll go where it needs to go.  I'm 5'11" and was 100 pounds two years ago.  When I started HRT in December, I was 120.  Then I decided I actually wanted a shot at growing breasts and went on the Hagen-Dazs diet to get myself up to 140.  It's actually worked wonders!

Just remain healthy.  Don't go gain fat that you may have to lose later.

Your ideal weight is from 117-130 lbs as a girl.  So you are about right for your height.

so i am in the small frame range what does that mean?

Did you do the elbow measurement at the bottom of that page?  That'll tell you if you're in small, medium, or large frame.  I wound up (at 5'11") as a small frame male or medium frame female because my elbow measurement was exactly 2-5/8".  As a small frame male or medium frame female, my ideal weight range is between 145-159, meaning I'm still underweight by that calculator.

But you have to do the elbow measurement to see what frame you are. ;)

wow i looked at that chart and i am a small frame women but dont even show on the male side i am 5'9" 125-130Ibs (depending on the day and how much i ate the day before and what i am wearing) but  i have also been this weight since i was 15 and i am now 22
so form what i get form those charts if i am way tiny for how tall i am even on both male and female sides of the chart i am under weight
even my damn wii fitness tells me this i am not worried much about it. my docter how ever everytime i have gone in he has told me yes i am underweight but i am healthy i eat right and exercise enough. the chart also states in it (Weight in pounds, based on ages 25-59 with the lowest mortality rate
(indoor clothing weighing 5 pounds and shoes with 1" heels) guess it really depends

I guess more of what i was trying to say no you dont have to be a certien weight to be healthy most scales and charts you will find are based on average and incase you have not noticed no one is average

Lol, I've got you beat, I'm 5'8 115 lbs... I hate it.  I feel like I look emaciated all the time, and I constantly cover my body up because I'm embarrassed of my spine showing.  My veins also show, especially in my arms and ankles, and you can see all the different cartilages in my neck in most of my pictures.  Gaining weight when you are naturally skinny is the biggest nightmare.  My best advice to anyone who is naturally skinny and wants to gain weight is to start working out, start eating avocados, drink whole milk and eat bread.  I've found a lot of really skinny people hate the taste of bread (like me), so I just pour balsamic vinegar and olive oil on it to mask the taste.  Still, all this effort only maintains my weight, I would drop back down to my original weight of 105 if I didn't try to gain.  It's just genetics... would be great if I was an endurance runner, unfortunately I'm not =(

I'm the exact opposite... bread is my weakness.  I can't even stand when someone puts butter on bread because it destroys the delicious natural flavor!
