Post by: LilKittyCatZoey on July 19, 2011, 12:56:44 PM
Before i am full time and even far into hrt i have two therapists approval letters i asked them why and they say i have the worst case they have seen in years? Are they even allowed to do that? Dont get me wrong i love it :D :D :D :D because i can get my ID etc with no hassle with me wanting zoey as my name and girl as my gender :D

I think that's really cool, Zoey.  You're well on your way to becoming who you want to be, and that's awesome.   :D

Hi Zoey

I don't know why they were saying that, so it's hard to give an answer to your question.
Anyway, you got what you want so don't worry about whatever someone has to say.

Honey bunch, name change yes as you are SA born I should think. Gender change? No way, only once you'll have surgeon's SRS letter and one e.g. GP to confirm this.

Self, living in SA but on P.R. I can not even change my name (as it will not match my P.R. document and/or passport).

As for that if you SA citizen you don't even need a letter at all. Just apply for the name change at Dept. of Home affairs. Pretty easy I'm told --- unfortunately not for "aliens" like me.
