Thanks, my name is just a variation of my given name and that's what my mom calls me anyway-it just has a 'y' on my birthday cards instead of an 'i'.

They have a rather distinctive sound that I can't quite put my finger on... Oh, now I remember :) It's the Angry Constipated addict ranting on the toilet sound
I was wondering the same thing as to if you're speaking of the band or Marilyn Monroe lol.
I thought they were okay with Bless the Martyr, Kiss the Child. Particularly because it featured Aaron Weiss... who is like one of my favourite people of all time. :)
Do American parents realise that naming their child Randy is going to cause lots of embarrassment when they visit the UK, Australia or New Zealand?
"Hi, I'm Randy."
"OK, your place or mine?"
Karen.

LOL, I had heard something like that a long time ago but never really knew what it was about-something like semantics of terms surrounding the meaning??? Someone if you can please elaborate so I'll know.
Most days I am not easily embarrassed and I do like root beer.

I knew someone once called Randy Learner (though spelt Randi Lerner), I never went in a library with him though - so I wouldn't know.

Randi
I'm not a fan of Norma Jean (I like say one song from them, or something) but I'm a big death metal fan myself, but only for the bands that truly put experimentation, talent, songwriting exploration, and timelessness into the mix.
For example, one of my favorite bands of all time, Opeth:
Opeth - Burden (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF68P5N1RJM#)
Opeth - Porcelain Heart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0cDmm7Cz_k&ob=av2e#)
Usually, the vocalist/guitarist uses a growling vocal technique (a bit alike to how Chinese Monk's train their voice to do a hollow chant) for parts of many of his songs, but these two particular songs only features his blues-acoustic voice. Great band, IMO. Very pretty stuff.
