Title: I finally started HRT :)

Couldn't be happier, just took my first dose of estrogen. Was slightly let down when the doctor's office called and said that they weren't yet going to prescribe an anti androgen, though that slightly down feeling sure went away quick.

It's been right around 10 minutes since I took my first pill and I'm absolutely giddy and can't wipe this goofy grin off my face, wonder if that's normal.   ;D

Words can't possibly fully express the way that I feel right now, this has been a long long time coming.

Also got prescribed some thyroid medicine, as my blood work showed problems with it.... grand total for both... all of 8 dollars...

This is just tremendous!

You have far a mightier insurance plan than I do!  :P

Anyway, congratulations on taking this important step. Part of the giddiness is anticipation and excitement, but I, for one, noticed a distinct calming effect that was beyond placebo. Very relaxing.

Tiffany, Just relax & be glad you are moving forward. Enjoy your day normal, maybe do something nice for yourself as a reward: bubble bath, new nail polish, buy a new cosmo, talk with an old friend you have not talked with in a while. It's a big step I know & remember well the same giddy type feelings long ago.

You take care of your body & yourself. You deserve to have a very nice day.

I remember the first day of E. Probably the most exciting and wonderful feeling a person can have. Few moments can come close to that fateful moment when you take that solid step to body mind congruence.

It is the certain knowledge that something will finaly change and you are moving forward.

Good luck on this most incredible journey that you are embarking on.

Grats! Don't get too down about no anti-androgens. Estrogen itself is an anti-androgen.

Tiffany, I cannot tell from your picture but if you need any facial or body hair removal I suggest the Tria Laser product. I just received one & it works great. For any body hair that is dark the laser works to destroy the root. Just fyi, if you need. The good part with this is once the hair roots are destroyed they never grow back.

I really suggest photo-documenting yourself throughout HRT. Whenever I look at old photos, I still think, "I can't believe I used to look like that!"

I'll always remember the first day I took estradiol, august 10th 2010. I ended up taking a nice walk as it was a sunny day and felt wonderful

Wonderful news, Tiffany! I must confess that when I saw your avatar, I thought you had already started on HRT, which can only be a good sign of what is to come. :) Be sure to keep us posted on your progress through the big changes ahead!

Irish Janet, What a nice funny posting for young Ms Tiffany.

I remember baking my first chocolate cake. I was so proud. It looked nice & I took it to a party with other natural woman friends. We all sat & gossiped about men, sex, husbands, children & life. That was such fun.
