Title: Anyone here coming to SlutWalkDC?
Post by: Hikari on July 28, 2011, 04:22:25 PM
I really do like the message

Quote
Slutwalk is a protest, a rally and a demonstration of frustration and anger.
We are protesting blaming victims of sexual violence for the violence perpetrated against them.
No one is responsible for the violence perpetrated against them, no matter what they wear, who they associate with, or who they are.

Also this caught my eye a bit:
Quote...you don't have to wear your sexual proclivities on your sleeve, we just ask that you come. Any gender-identification, any age. Singles, couples, parents, sisters, brothers, children, friends...

In any case it takes place on 8-13-2011 near the white house, and I have been considering going, probably en femme too, but I am still not 100% yet. I consider the cause a most worthy one, I find little more repugnant than blaming the victim of abuse. It is hard for me to express in civil terms how strongly I feel that, so I figure I will try and show my support, schedule permitting.

I'd like to go but have no means of getting there.  I'll be there in spirit.
