Title: Clothes You Hate/Refuse to Wear
Post by: N.Chaos on July 29, 2011, 03:41:25 PM
Most people have them. I think it's interesting, and funny sometimes, hearing stuff that people just flat out hate, and why.

-Personally, I hate flip flops. Sandals. Mandals. Air Jesuses. Whatever we're calling them, I think they're horridly uncomfortable and agressively ugly. I've spent most of my life in boots, so being barefoot  or nearly so is actually pretty uncomfortable for me. I'll wear them to take the dog out, and that's about it.

-Huge, baggy stuff. Why? Because I'm short and lumpy as it is. Just...gah.

-Khaki and navy blue. That's just because of catholic school. Bad, bad memories. And, admittedly, because I think they're both just so...blah.

-Turtlenecks. I don't like getting strangled by my own clothes.

That's.... random. o.O

Neways, I never wear collared T-shirts, ugh. And I hate flip flops that go between your toes, they're so uncomfortable. >.>

Flip flops drive me bats, I can't stand having something between my toes  :P  They are handy if a friend likes being spanked however  >:-)

-Polos
-Most types of hats (hair accessories being a different story)
-Tennis shoes (for anything other than exercise)
-Baggy anything
-Skate shoes (why do people wear these for everyday use?)
-Band shirts/graphic tees/obnoxious logos (think roxy, hurley, vans, etc)
-Plaid

Baggy pants.

ballet skirts

flat shoes

I second the flip flops. So loud and uncomfortable.

Gangster clothes, huge shirts thug shoes just, no

Pastel colors

Pink flipped up color polos

Super blatantly name brand clothing. Like those R. Lauren shirts with the horse symbol even bigger, like "hey! This shirt cost tons more then it needs to cost and it makes me cool"

Jeans.. I would wear them if I found a comfortable pair. I'm kinda like Kramer, I just find them uncomfortable

high heels with a little thin heel that looks like it could break easily, pointy shoes, skirts that are really tight in the front, anything made out of animals, gladiator sandals :eusa_snooty:, flip flops, nude colored pantyhose, anything with tye dye or ugly patterns, clothes with the brand name on it, baggy tshirts, etc. Im kinda picky with these kinda things

I hate shorts, and I hate those cheap beach flip flops. This makes me no fun to go swimming with!

Really though, I don't know why, but I hate shorts, I don't even mind short skirts too much, but something about shorts just bothers me.

Hikari, thank you! I hate shorts, too! And of course, since it's almost August in Michigan, I get to tell someone every day why I'm wearing jeans in this weather.  ::)

lol yep, same here, there was a heat index of 115F this week and at my work, there is no air conditioning, and I was in the back of a trailer unloading it and everyone else was wearing shorts, and they were like "WTF!?! How are you still alive, why aren't you in shorts!?"

Apparently not liking shorts is like insane to them lol

Ah man, I don't like shorts either. I'm wearing a pair right now 'cause it's so hot out, but then again I'm in the house. I hate wearing shorts out just because they're...kind of uniformly ugly.

And gah, how could I forget polo shirts. Polo shirts times infinity. They're so friggin ugly.

Rubber clogs, what ever that stuff is called!?
The most disgustingly ugly foot wear on this planet.

The list is too long to mention,
but too high heels that hurt after no time,
brown as a colour in general,
frilly skirts and blouses,
very state "madam" kind of gear,
too big and cheap looking wrist watches,
too much makeup,
untouchable hairdos,
green nail varnish,
add black to that,
blood red lipstick,
camouflage 3/4 pants,
undies that pinch me,
boy's drab in general,
hats that don't suit me (I do wear hats BTW),
OK, just what comes to mind right now.

I used to wear jeans and t-shirt pretty much all the time and said I wouldn't wear anything else, but I've recently branched out in a big way.  About the only thing I wouldn't wear now are butt shorts and anything with flower prints.  But flower sandals and flip flops are alright (I have pairs of each).  I've also fallen in love with short shorts, but they have to cover my butt completely.  I think it's nasty when anyone wears the really short ones.

* they have to cover my butt completely.  I think it's nasty when anyone wears the really short ones. *

And never mind the FRONT too. Display of "cuckoo feathers" is slightly beyond the pale...
I had such situation, sitting at my dining table over a meal, and the girl standing next to me.
NOT NICE!

Hats, really? Like, all hats indiscriminantly?
I'm picky as hell with them (Like I am with most things) but I have a few that I love. I have a bad habit though, like my dad, of buying hats that I NEVER wear. So my mannequin head turned into a gigantic hatrack.

Yeah, the heat thing is a pain in the ass. I tend to pass better wearing certain hats, but it's summer and IDGAF. Like you said, sweaty enough as it is.

Crocs ("those rubber sandal things"), flip flops, turtlenecks, anything that screams "cowboy," fur (not because it's murder, mostly because it's gaudy), anything orange.

Apparently, my fashion sense would offend most of our membership here; I typically wear shorts or jeans with skate shoes or athletic shoes, a polo shirt or t-shirt, and a baseball cap. Oh, and plaid, but I only dig it if it's brightly colored.

hmm for me it's

1. Stiletto Heels or heels longer than 2 inches (hate em more than Jellyfish. And I HATE Jellyfish!!!)
2. Baggy anything
3. Hooker boots
4. painter hats
5. Leggings with a tight blouse (always MUST be a tunic and leggings for me)
6. Polos
7. Printed blouses (you know...the ones with the kittens, or the 3 wolves howling at the moon, or a garden of roses plastered across the breasts)
8. Spandex skirts or formfitting skirts (pencil skirts are ok)
9. Suntan Pantyhose. Nude yes. Suntan no!
10. Religious T Shirts
11. Movie T Shirts (I guess 10 and 11 can be related to 7)
12. Jeggings
13. Printed tights (like argyle pattern tights, plaid pattern tights, blackwhite stripe pattern tights, etc etc).

Things I will not allow my boyfriend to wear if we plan on being seen together out in public (LOL)
1. Muscle shirts (whether it's sleeveless button shirts, sleeveless polos, sleeveless tshirts, etc etc
2. Jeans tucked in boots

I love me some plaid. Skate shoes are comfy as hell, and usually pretty durable. I had a pair of Vans that I loved dearly, lasted me about 5 years in spite of walking everywhere.

I had to laugh at the "printed blouses " Annah mentioned. So friggin' tacky. I ordered a shirt from Rockabilia  while back and now apparently get their catalogues every once in a while. And the non-band shirts are the cheesiest grim-reaper-with-flaming-skull stuff imaginable.

lol for real! Printed T shirts are so nasty unless its done from a very reputable source.

Also, I am a big time Vans wearer. D'awww those are adorable!
My girlfriend would snatch those up in a heartbeat.

Agreed, though. I found a site online that does screenprinting of obscure horror movies and such, he does a great job. My girlfriend bought a hoodie of his about three years ago and it still hasn't cracked/peeled/faded.

I don't wear:
I've been wearing shorts so much this hot summer. I mix it up with skirts but I get so bored with it that I wear jeans or stretch athletic pants for a change.

You'll usually find me in sneakers because of the amount of walking I do. I'll wear flip-flops if it's hot and I only have to walk a mile or two.

I can be picky about outfits as a whole, but there aren't that many items of clothing that I object to wearing 100% — it depends how they look, and on what I'd be wearing them with. One of the only things I can't see myself ever wearing are those shorts that end below the knee that almost every young guy seems to wear.

Shoes, however, I am much more picky about. I will not wear flip flops, Crocs, or Ugg boots. I don't like boat shoes, moccasins, penny loafers or anything with the seam around the top of the toe like that. I also won't wear square-toed clunky dress shoes like these (http://www.kennethcoleshoes.net/images/6220-336001-p.jpg). I don't notice them too much on other people but I wouldn't ever wear them myself. When it comes to dress shoes, I prefer something more classic.

I also rarely wear orange as I look terrible in it. I do have one loud 70s patterned shirt that has quite a bit of orange in the pattern, but that's it. I love the pattern too much not to keep it.

Drug-store cowboy, all hat, no cattle.

Flips are great for two things, you wear them between where you change and the pool/spa, and secondly they are like manna from heaven if your on a real hot beach and have to make a run across the sand.

They are a god-send in the Third World, flips have saved a lot of lives.

Oh, I'm guilty of that one. Like, every other day. It's just comfy to me, though, and I feel like it makes me less short. Plus it rains a lot here and nothing pisses me off more than wet clothes.

Tekla, I can't deny the fact that they're really convenient/helpful, especially with the burning sand of death. I just don't like them because they're uncomfortable for me, and (this sounds really odd) I feel too "vulnerable" in then. Don't ask, I know it doesn't make any damn sense.

The only thing I have down right refused to wear is a suit, didn't even wear one for my end of high school party. I know girls can wear suits but it is generally seen as a masculine thing to wear.

I don't particularly like wearing baggy jeans but I will if all of my skinnies are in the wash (unlikely).

Tights without a skirt, just screams 'Bogan' ,80's balloon skirts,  Cargo or Capri  pants. And anything in Beige.

Here in Oz flip-flops are called thongs.  You can imagine the look of horror on a English girl's face when she is asked why she isn't wearing her thongs to go out! :o

In SA we call them flip-flops too, but the bottom version we call G-strings.
Any idea what "G"? The string part is obvious.

Cargo pants SHMG! Too butch for this here gal.

Also Laura Ashley stuff or anything too frilly is not my thing, add beige and brown, exceptions confirm this rule.

Purple I wear with some discretion as it is said to say: "Sexually frustrated, ..." ouch!
No need to advertice such, or?

Oh, and high boots with super spiky heels of 4 - 5" ... that's what I'd call "bed-shoes" :-) and what out for your linen!

Tighty whiteys.  Why those are the default male underwear I don't know.  Boxer briefs are so much more comfortable and look better.

Uggs.

Those 80s sleeveless down vest things.

Standard socks... I am so used to toe socks, toeless yoga socks, and tabi now that regular socks feel like stuffing my feet into a bag.

It makes sense to me, last time I was at the beach, I managed to get the tops of my feet sunburnt in those a pair of flip-flops! Next time, I will learn that I need to put sunscreen on my feet too in those things, so you are vulnerable to the sun at least :P

Also, I know if it is sunny I wear very opaque (read hot) clothes just because I get sunburnt so easily, even in overcast I get burnt, it isn't right, because I love the beach.

Exactly! That's happened to me too, I had a stripe of sunburn on my leg once lol. My mom's the same way, though, she burns ridiculously fast/easy.

QuoteApparently, my fashion sense would offend most of our membership here; I typically wear shorts or jeans with skate shoes or athletic shoes, a polo shirt or t-shirt, and a baseball cap.

Same here. And cargo pants. Hawaaiian shirt once in awhile to avoid being too predictable.

Like me some Reef flip flops, but hate all others.

I will not wear polyester pants or Crocs.

Girls' panties (wedgie from undies = uncomfortable)
Bras (yyyeah... no. of the three bras I own, two are covered in lace and ribbons and stuff so it feels like drag rather than actual clothes, and the other's a sports bra I've had for years)
Girls' clothing that shows off skin/is visibly "girly" (should be self explanatory)
Anything pink, unless it's worn as a joke (a comeback to people saying "God, I can't even imagine you in pink...").
Chinos (nooo, so ugly, so boring, reminds me of people I'd rather not think of)
Trainers, unless I'm excercising and need them because of that.
Clothes with visible brand names on them (I don't like being a living billboard).
Clothes made from itchy/uncomfortable material, such as wool sweaters, linen stuff, etc.

Really? You were wearing the wrong kind of panties. I never get wedgies from panties and always had wedgies from boxers. I quickly gave up boxers in my early teens because of that and switched to boxer briefs (this was when I was younger and living with my Mormon family). Although, even with boxer briefs the material is so rough and scratchy, it was horribly uncomfortable. This is why men have so much "jock itch" down there, because of the crappy, itchy material that men's underwear is made out of. I always had itchiness when I wore men's underwear, but when I switched to panties, which was years before starting HRT, the itchiness magically went away. Even if I were a man (cis or trans) and not a transwoman I would still wear panties. In fact, I even prefer my men in panties. They're just far more comfortable and made from far better material and just a lot nicer all around. You give me a cute, skinny guy in a cute, silky pair of panties and I'm a happy girl. ;D

Any GUY labeled cloths OR stuff strictly, specifically limited to "girlie girl" only . . .
(ie: anything an "alleged gay" probably wouldn't wanna wear anyway?)

With a COURT ORDER against "cross-dressing" (gender-dressing?) . . .

"But but . . . Your Honor! What exactly do You mean THAT?" NOT!

Anything non-trousery that comes above the ankles. Very happy dancing around in a full-length sarong at singing camp this week :).

Oh, and anything in the Official Permitted Range Of Guy Colours - you know, backdrop white, grey, taupe, buff, Gap For Blah. Black is still cool, though :).

I havent worn panties since my freshman year of high school, and i hadnt even known i was trans then.  panties are like a constant butt wedgie, and there is no room to "breathe"

Thong panties -- hate the things!

I will not wear things like 'panties for men' such as 'manties' or 'bras for men' or anything that is '--feminine article of clothing-- made for men'

There are certain stores whose stuff I refuse to wear .. I will not wear anything from Victoria's Secret for example --- in general -- if it the THING that you just 'OHMIGAWD' have to wear -- I won't wear it

hrrrmmm well I don't dislike many things buuuut!~
Bubble skirts and shirts (those clothes that look like a bedsheets hung as improv clothing)
flip flops
overly labeled clothes (such as GAP and what not where you look like an add)
most hats
skinny jeans (to be fair I can wear them but I like my legs to breathe)
gansta clothing ( I mean what is cool about having your butt hanging out of your pants and looking like your playing dress up with parents clothes?)

Oh but I have to say the one thing I love are capris, before I thought of myself as a girl I would wear them but just say they were to long of shorts  ::)
(the girls would give strange looks from time to time but no one actually questioned me)
always felt right, and now I know why ^^

One more reason I love living in an outdoorsy city.  I wear t-shirts/button down shirts, jeans, and running shoes.  Most other things seem a bit silly to me.

Side note on Crocs- I thought they were the stupidest things ever until someone got me a pair.  Damn they're comfy!  I wear them for hiking.

Yeah know what you mean I live in a very small town area with hunting and football being the main sport (hunting is huge here because of the deer) Some things do seem silly I prefer function to look in most cases but there are so many times where it's hard to help oneself  ;)

As for crocs, I have never once worn them, maybe I should give them a try down the road..... darn >_< now I'm thinking on it to much

I hate crocs. With a passion. They are so ugly and uncomfortable for me. Also, flip-flops, I hate that little thing between the toe. ow. I prefer sandals, if close-toed shoes are impractical. I prefer converse/vans, or cowboy boots. I love boots like these: http://i52.tinypic.com/mt2zpi.jpg (http://i52.tinypic.com/mt2zpi.jpg)

I'm beginning to prefer skinny jeans or dark, loose pants, always with a belt. Blue jeans are beginning to look weird to me, since the ones I own I never wear.
Polo shirts are kinda icky, especially the stupid long ghetto ones. I still wear them, but vintage ones look better o_O
I absolutely hate those shirts with stupid stuff on them like "wise guy" or "check out the gun show" or "too much of a good thing, is a good thing -dude with two chicks on his arms-" or things like that. Snorgtees and such are more amusing, but the shirts I've seen are douchebaggy. My mom always insists they're men's shirts, so I shouldn't be bothered when she picks them out in a store, laughing.

Tap-out/wrestling shirts, band shirts (just because I don't like wrestling and don't listen to a lot of bands), pink clothes @_@, cargo shorts, LOOK-I'MMA-BILLBOARD shirts (aeropostale, etc.)... douchebag uniform at my school is aeropostale shirts and cargo shorts. It's ugly. I like black shorts.

I don't like nike shoes for some reason. Athletic shoes are gross to me. -shrug-
I also hate sweater vests. I think I could pull it off and look cute, but they look so thick and ugly! XD cardigans for me o.o

High heels are teh suckz. -_-;

Skinny jeans. Sure, they aren't too bad to get on and make your lower half look pretty good, but if you're going to get busy with someone, it kills the mood when you need help getting your pants off. =\

I have a tie!

I found it the other week when I was cleaning out a draw. OK you can now guess what gender I am . I have no recollection of wearing it or where it came from.  I reckon it would look good on a guy. I quite like guys in suit and tie. Not old crabby stuff,  but the type that Daniel Craig looks good in. And no I did not say Birthday   .
