It seems that everyone who keeps their fingers on the pulse of the transsexual community has run into this debate sooner or later. It has it's roots in the Bailey-Blanchard-Lawrence debates of yore, when men who transitioned just because they were turned on by the image of themselves as women (autogynephiles, like Anne Lawrence) or transsexual women who did not like being identified as such created pseudo-diseases to make themselves feel more special and take on a stronger "disease mentality" than most transsexual people do (think Harry Benjamin Syndrome)... there has always been some sort of crazy or another in the transsexual community. And now, we will talk about a fairly new kind of crazy – the Transsexual-not-Transgender crowd (known as TS-not-TG).
