Title: Random things you related to songs/books/movies?
Post by: Cowboi on August 02, 2011, 01:57:24 PM
Okay so I have always had a sick fixation with certain movies or stories that definitely stemmed from my being trans (long before I knew I was lol). So I am curious if anyone else had similar situations with things they were really drawn to that may not have made sense to other people but was definitely a "sign" when you were younger.

When I was really little I was very obsessed with Beauty and the Beast, The Phantom of the Opera, etc. I felt very much for the main male character, which made no sense to anyone else when I was a kid.

‎"As the years passed, he fell into despair, and lost all hope, for who could ever learn to love a beast?" - Felt like the truest thing when I was a kid. I was just sure that something was very wrong with me and that it was something that made me "a beast" to other people. Even not knowing what trans wast I realized it was not normal and that other people would not necessarily see and accept it about me.

Anyone else want to share? :)

I completely idolised George Kirrin from Enid Blyton's  Fomaous 5 books, real name was Georgina, insisted on being called George and wanted to be a boy, for some reason I really liked her, can't imagine why... ;)

I was amused by Darrell from Enid Blyton's Malory Towers series when I was young :D I hear that it was because of these books that led to Darrell being used as a girl's name in the following years :D

I remember reading Animorphs and knowing exactly what I would do if I had the power to turn into anybody else.

Wouldn't that be the best power ever? I could be a guy, and a damn good looking one at that if I had my way! lol

But I could be better looking. When you are good looking it's weird to not be good looking in a way YOU feel is good looking. That might sound odd but I think you can follow it. I get  told by people all of the time that I'm handsome or cute, but it's not what I think is handsome in a man so I just don't see it.

I remember reading Robert Heinlen's 'I will Fear No Evil' were a dying man's brain is transplanted into the murdered body of his beautiful female secretary. I prayed it would happen to me.
