first is electrostatics how painful is that hair removal?? it seems to be super painful from how people describe it!!
second the SRS yay no more penis :D :D but i forget to dialate and it closes for ever!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...etc
Those to things have made me a insomniac i havent slept for 2 weeks with out medicational help :-\ :-\

Well, miss one dilation it isn't a big deal, I have yet to meet anyone who kept exactly to the dilation schedule that their doctor gave them.
As far as electrolysis goes, I have only ever used one unit, but even on the lowest setting getting upper lip or even nose hair seems to be far more painful than say getting stung by a bee. However, on my legs or whatever, even on it's highest setting it isn't all that bad to me, it always hurts, but the pain is worlds apart on different places. Luckily if you really want to be able to deal with the pain, there are plenty of medications to help deal with pain.
I could not tell you how many years it has been since I broke out any of the stents for dilation...has there been SOME closure and loss of depth? Yeah. But as a lesbian, depth was never an issue for me anyhow...and even without having gone through a formal dilation period in well over a decade, there has not been a total closure like some fearmongers would lead people to believe.
As far as electrolysis goes, I found that a half of a hydrocodone or vicodin did wonders as far as letting me sleep through the process. For the upper lip, I had a local dentist shoot me up with novocaine which then gave my electrologist a couple of hours to do her thing...
Electrolysis is very painful around the mouth area, especially the upper lip. The rest of the face and neck isn't too bad though, and the cheeks are jaw are super easy.
Some electrologists will provide a pain numbing cream, but not all of them do. You may want to take an advil or something beforehand, especially if you're having the lips done.
I dilated for the first 6 months religously and then every so often for a yr and then well its been 12 yrs but i still have 5 to 6 inches when i checked just a month ago..
Oh i loved electrolysis it was like acupuncture. It was relaxing.. it depends on the person doing it and the bachground and the type being used and if they wera magnifying glasses as they should.
The only way I can do electrolysis is to be numbed up for the the area around the mouth. I am looking into finding a way to get numbed up for the throat and cheeks. I need a muscle relaxer.
I have been getting thermolysis done which is a form of electrolysis, but it actually tends to be less painful, as they only spend 3-4 seconds on each follicle. Honestly, the upper lip is the worst part, and yes it can be kind of painful. I wouldn't call it "bee sting" painful, that's for sure, but it's a little trying. But it's not a pain you should be freaking out about. It's just kind of like an "Ow. Ow. Ow." kind of pain, not an "OMG WTF WHY DID YOU STAB ME WITH THAT HARPOON??" kind of pain.
It's not a big deal, honestly. You will be fine. ;D
If you get a good electrologist, maybe they'll let you listen to music during the job. Also practice meditation techniques. My electrologist says that a lot of her patients get so good at meditation, they can fall asleep during it. You can zone out the pain after a while, like they way people who get tattoos regularly don't even feel the pain anymore.
If you are young and therefore don't have any grey hair, and have dark hair, laser should work really well. If you are blonde it doesn't do the job very well, unfortunately.
It hurts too, but it doesn't last long. I treated mine like a case of sunburn, with cold, wet flannels to take the heat and redness out. Any that come through now I just tweezer.
