Title: Tattoos on arms and changing muscle mass on T
Post by: spiffyalexneal on August 04, 2011, 01:04:04 PM
So I'm starting T in like, two weeks, but I have the tattoo bug again. I want another tattoo NOW or SOON, but I'm afraid if I get one on my arm (and the ones I'm thinking are pretty big) it'll end up looking weird if the look of my arms change as I build more muscle mass in that area from T and working out. I want text on my forearm, and a like, five inch outline of my home state with the state bird/flower on my upper arm.

I don't plan on looking like a bodybuilder, it's not my thing. I just know I want and (if I work at it) will get more muscle definition in my arms.

Anyone have any experience with this?

I'm also curious about this.  I'm in the process of building muscle, and my arms are a bit bigger every week.  I wanted to get a tribal band with kanji characters around my right tricep/bicep, but if it's going to look stretched once I gain more muscle, I guess I'll wait.

I have always had stick arms and HATE it. I really feel I look super funny because the rest of my body looks proportion.   I have tattoos on both arms and I asked the tattoo artists about this when I was having them done because I have always wanted bigger arms.  Both of them (in Puerto Rico and England) told me that the tattoo will get a bit bigger (strech in the direction of the muscle growth) but depending on what it is will depend on how it transforms or expands.  It also depends on how big you are trying to get.  If I were to really bulk up, then touch ups would be necessary because of the skin stretch.    One of my armbands is centered on my arm, and if I bulk up then it will be off-center some, so depending on what you get, it may be off center if that matters to you.

Hope that helps.

I have a fairly large (entire bicep area) tattoo that I've had since I began bodybuilding.
I got it after I had begun T, however my arms were basically stick figure arms when I got it done, and have gained probably 5" since then.
It hasn't "stretched" the tattoo visibly, it still looks exactly the same as when I got it - it's just that the area where it's placed is now larger than it was before.
When I flex my arms, the tattoo does change shape - but again, not drastically. It's a clipper ship, and when I flex, it looks like the ship is "charging" so thats kinda neat.
