Title: These Crocs were made for melting...
Post by: Vaerama on August 08, 2011, 12:04:02 AM
I intend to practice my womanwalk on the 9th... and I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions on the subject :)

Considering I'm shaving down again tomorrow, I'm lightly contemplating going in a dress... only my breast size (nothing) and less than gorgeous knees make this option somewhat unappealing... will make decision on whether I'm going red, purple, or goth on the morning before I catch my plane ^_^

Reason I'm in Anchorage that day: getting a 'physical' from the people who are going to give me my hormone prescription. Never had a physical before, somehow don't like the sound of it. :(

Mostly they will be looking at things like blood pressure, listen to your lungs, weight and height, that sort of thing.  Sounds like they may take baseline blood tests for your T level and Liver Function too. No big deal.

When people talk about Anchorage I tend to forget it isn't ice and snow all year round. :embarrassed:
Have a great day, and I am sure they must have shoe and other shops to make the trip worthwhile. ;)
Karen.

Yay ^_^ I was worried there would be 'other' tests and I certainly wasn't encouraged by that thought at all -_-

I'd go shopping for shoes, but the only "shoe" I've worn for the last 5 years (at least) has been Crocs ( http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Crocs&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1627&bih=1102 (http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Crocs&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1627&bih=1102) ). I still have ~$750 left in my clothing budget... so will probably search for purple pants to work with my purple tops ^_^

Two trips ago, I had the unfortunate experience of getting lost in Anchorage and walking 16 miles and change. No wind save what passing cars could do, very rare shade, no water, totally lost and without the small money for a bus on me, harsh sun with not a cloud in the sky, 68F and I swear it was lying... my crocs melted a little :S

Would still like suggestions on how to walk like a woman, as I have a basic template but seek to make it better :)

Relax when you walk.  It seems to me males walk like its an objective to be completed.  Women (and many gay men) seem to walk for the joy of walking, they're very relaxed, their whole body moves.  Watching men walk is like watching Riverdance, they only move from the waist down.

Join my walk with my shoulders lightly and stay in a good mood with only a loose general aim as to where I'm going? :)

Somehow, I find it way easier to keep my posture when I'm carrying bags and whatnot

Oh, I got a surprise test at my physical.  :o

As far as walking, just loosen up. The only conscious change I make is regarding my arms, I make an effort to slightly swing them and walk with my palms forward, and I don't even know if that's really a "female thing."

I tend to walk with a heavy foot fall, I'm trying to focus on being gentler on my feet and that seems to be loosening up my stride as well.

Keeping your elbows close to your body helps keep your palms tuned forward and seems to make your hips sway a bit too.
