You don't have to apologize. Just don't do it anymore.

Sup bro, just a heads up. Before posting something, think "could this offend someone?" if you even think 'maybe', then don't post it. Trust me, sometimes I finish a post, and then change my mind because it was actually kinda rude or insensitive, and then I don't post it. Remember we're all here to talk about our experiences and support each other, not hate on everyone else.

Agreed with ravij and Solobear.  Just quit doing it.  Think about what you're saying and who you're saying it to (as in pick an appropriate subforum).

It's impossible to not offend everyone.  I'm sure I've said things that have offended others.  But being mindful of the words you use and the audience you are addressing will (hopefully) significantly decrease the amount of people you upset.

You have a beautiful energy, sweetie!  Don't let it be ruined by hate and judgment.  You deserve so much more than that.

Your advice is worth its weight in gold.  Wait a sec....how much does digital text weigh, anyway?  I guess it doesn't matter.  The point is that everyone should always consider very carefully how their words might affect others before posting them.

There have been some forum communities where I have written more replies that I never posted than ones that I did.  Very often I will write something that seems like a good idea, but after thinking about it I'll realize it will cause backlash by certain members.  I usually never post those replies unless the information is essential to the avoidance of the destruction of the universe.  Or at the very least, I don't post the reply unless someone really needs the advice/info.

the apology is much appreciated but it's more important to just not make those types of posts in the future.

it sounds like you have a lot of strong feelings. perhaps if you don't have a close friend to share with in person, you could keep a journal or diary.

Ditto exactly what RyanThomas said.

This is excellent advice, and not just for LilKittyCatZoey, but for everyone. Not that I think it's a huge problem on this forum right now, but I think it's something important for us all to bear in mind. Of course, there can be exceptions where posting is worth the risk of offending someone — for example, calling someone else out for offending you might offend them, but it's often worthwhile, and so on. However, if something really adds nothing to the discussion besides possibly upsetting people, it's better left out and/or taken elsewhere.

Likewise just because you feel deeply about something doesn't mean it's always appropriate to bring into the discussion at hand. That doesn't mean your opinion is wrong or horrible or should be kept locked inside, but some things should be saved for a more appropriate time and place.

Keep a diary on your laptop/computer if you don't want to risk it being found.  If your computers not passworded/other people know the password and you have MS word you can password protect individual word documents.  It's different in each version how to though, but a quick google search should find you an answer.

Interesting.  I did not know about the word documents.

I normally keep all of my "secret" documents in obscure system folders where nobody would ever look.

Don't worry, Zoe.  I also have inadvertantly offended the FTM community with tragically insensitive posts of my own devising.  I struggled with the guilt myself for a while.  Then I realized, this is a SUPPORT forum.  We just have to try to be as supportive as we can of everyone, and so sensitive.  So from now on I will try as hard as I can to be sensitive and think about what others might feel as I write.

And if I make a mistake, the rest will just have to grow a pair and learn to take their lumps.

I used to do that as well, but realised that if someone was in there they'd see that I was trying to hide them and be more inclined to look.  There is no password reset for them though, once the passwords forgotten, the document is as good as gone.

my privacy was denied for my first 18.5 years. i had to find my mom's week spot. she was kind of technically impaired, so i hid my private stuff in some technical sounding chains of folders, like program files > network > browser > settings > fatal error > ibwk's diary :D (not calling my diary a diary, btw. it was some random chain of digits).
not forgetting to delete every possible history and temp files.
