BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) — "Miss Bahamas" was leading the Miss Galaxy World contest, a transgender beauty contest at a dinner theatre spot south of here.
But he never lived to find out he had won.
"Miss Bahamas" — real name Shawn 'Bubbles' Waterman, 27, — complained of feeling unwell backstage. Moments later, shortly after midnight Sunday he collapsed, according to media reports.
An announcement called for a doctor or other medical personnel to go backstage. But it was too late. Waterman was later declared dead on the spot at the Plantation Garden Theatre.
That's rather sad news :'( she was leading the competition at the time
