I have only had a shot done on my butt once when I got my first shot by the nurse, since then I have been doing them on alternating thighs. Is there a difference in doing it on your butt? and could someone take a picture of a butt and show me where you are supposed to do it? lol no, you dont have to take a picture of your butt for me, just use a stock photo or something.
thanks
Talk to you medical provider about this first! Make sure gauges are right, etc. It's in the upper outside quadrant :)
As Meghan said, but if you are using alternative thighs why not keep going, it is a bit awkward to inject into your own butt, unless you have eyes in the back of your head, it is a visual black hole.
And sorry for the very bad puns

Cindypunzel, got it.
These are the directions from a nurse who does my shots.
Put the palm of your hand on the greater trochanter (the big lump where the femur inserts into the pelvis) spread your index and middle fingers out to touch the top of the iliac crest and go right between. Quick, easy.
It takes a second person obviously.
Oh no I've been punzeled by a predatory Kat.
If you have any doubt about injecting see your Dr and or nurse. If you are nervous or thinking about pain, try what I have posted before. Get some toothing cream from the pharmacy and rub that into the area and then inject. It is a local pain killer.
You OK LK? Hun

I haven't injected into the thigh, but from what I've read in threads the fact that I've yet to really feel the shot in my butt seems different.
No lumps, bumps or pain afterward, either. ymmv
LordKAT gave a perfect description of where to aim. That's where my better half sticks me.
I have estro shots in the upper bicep. I wont do butt shots lol
