I'm curious if anyone else had energy issues early in transition. Maybe a combination of stress and hormones? But something is really sapping away my strength and energy (so I am taking more naps, or just being super sleepy in classes).
The first month made me EXTREMELY tired, and I pretty much slept most the time... but now I'm about 5 months in and I would think the body would be used to things.
Or maybe it isn't the transition at all? Anyone else running into these things?
Somewhat... your body is doing a lot stuff internally. Building, changing, etc. Have you had your B12 levels checked? A B12 supplement in the form of methylcobalamin may be helpful. I find that eating the right stuff (plenty of fruits, vegetables, and lean protein) is the most effective at combating fatigue. Also getting plenty of sleep 7-8 hours per night also works wonders. I still get tired much faster now than pre-HRT, but diet, rest, and exercise are now much more important to me.
I don't remember having had any issues, but I was also running and gunning at the time between the balancing of work, school and not long afterwards, the partner and child. Being as active as I was, I never had TIME to be tired...
I know that NOW, *MANY* years later, I seem to be more tired as my metabolism has slowed down...but it is also not unexpected to feel different in one's 40's than when I was early 20's...
