I AM GOING FREAKING NUTS. I have ingrown hairs EVERYWHERE. All over my face and chin, on my chest, on my upper arms, my forearms, the back of my neck, AND THE TOP OF MY FREAKING FEET. It is so damn painful and annoying. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid them/get rid of them besides gently exfoliating? I use a cloth on my face and wash with mild acne cream once a day.
The good news is it means I'm getting massively hairy really fast on t, but the bad news is that it looks ugly and more importantly hurts like hell.
Triple antibiotic ointment.
I know you mentioned exfoliating, but depending on what you're using - I know baking soda, chamomile tea, and episome (sp?) salt (I have never used, but heard about it) work well. The chamomile (in ice-cube form) and a paste made of crushed soapstone also help with the acne. I suddenly am getting more ingrown hairs on my face lately, so I'm curious as to what others have used.
I've really only dealt with ingrown hairs on my chest and my shoulders. I haven't found a good way to avoid them yet though mine don't bother me as much anymore. Think I got used to having them all the time. If anyone can shed some light on it, it would be appreciated
I have this problem profusely.
I use an exfoliating glove with normal shower gel when I'm in the shower. I find those exfoliating body washes really don't cut it - and this way I can buy any old shower gel I like the smell of and use it with the glove.
Works wonders on all sorts of ingrown hairs, especially when used as a preventative measure.
oh good diet also. avoiding excessive or moderate amounts of dairy, meat, etc

well i was vegan until recently and now only eat animal products quite sparingly so i doubt that's the problem. the ingrown hairs didn't start with the diet change either.
