Hello ladies,
Ive posted on the MTF category of the forum about this already and didnt know this one exist!
But anyways im planning on getting my trachea shave done. I am in Virginia, location is not really a major factor for me but I would want to have the safest, but at the same time most effective results from a surgeon.
I also have a deviated septum, and i know my insurance will cover this procedure along with the anesthesia and stuff like that. I am thinking of going in for both my nose and my throat at the same time so that the insurance will cover the hospitalization and anesthesia costs and i only need to worry about the trachea shave procedure. did that make sense? I m bad at explaining things sorry :P. Now the challenge is finding a surgeon that can do both effectively and safely as i know trachea shave falls in the cosmetic surgeon area and deviated septum falls more on ENT surgeons.
I just want to know what your thoughts are about this and if you ladies have any referrals for good doctors. Money is really not an issue, what i am really looking to is the safety and effectiveness of these surgeons. I have a very prominent adams apple and the fact that im super skinny is not helping either. Thank goodness though that the tip is the only one bumping out and not the whole larynx. Again it is very important for me to remove as much as possible without affecting my voice.
PLS help thank you!!!
I'd certainly go ask Dr. Jeffrey H. Spiegel (http://www.drspiegel.com/) in Boston.
He does a lot of FFS, including chondrolaryngoplasties (tracheal shaves).
I have no idea whether he treats deviated septums.

Dr Spiegel done my FFS back in April. I highly recommend him and his wonderful staff. Check out my youtube videos on my experience at http://www.youtube.com/user/jamiejogirl (http://www.youtube.com/user/jamiejogirl)
Good luck.
