Title: Getting new ink & binding questions ...
Post by: Logan on August 26, 2011, 09:03:37 AM
Ok, so I have a back piece (covers just below the base of the neck to right about the bottom the shoulder blades, all the way a crossed) and I'm getting it colored in in a couple weeks ... I'm wondering if binding is safe after this, or should be avoided??

PS - I have an underworks tank binder and also a t shirt cut one.

I know you're not supposed to wear a bra if it rubs against the tattoo. If your binder creates significant friction in the area then I wouldn't wear it.

Wearing your binding vest while the tattoo is healing is a very bad idea. If you can manage it, try to go without it for at least a week, if possible, 2 weeks.

Sports tape would be a far better idea, it's made to deal with body oils.

Interesting ... I've never heard of anyone using sports tape ... I usually get the clear duct tape (because it sticks better to my skin) .. I've never really had any problems unless I sweat like a hog ... lol
