Ive recently began hrt. My mom has had 2 pulmonary embolisms related to her hysterectomy.
I am concerned that I will start getting clots and have to stop hrt.
I am under a doctors care, but of course she isnt around to talk too when I am going wild in my head.
So, if it turns out I start developing clots, is that it for me and hrt?
I think there are kinds of hrt that don't or are less likely to cause clots, and I know there are a few things to help prevent clots, but really that is a question you ought to ask your doc. The answer may well be different for different people too.
I totally intend on asking her, but that is 10 days a way.
I wore my new sandals out yesterday, and my ankle and leg are sore. It got me thinking about hrt, so I figured Id see what everyone had to say about it.
For me, it would be more devestating than having blood clots, that is, not being able to do hrt through my transition
If you're worried about blood clots, there are several ways to lessen your chances of getting them.
Be sure to exercise every day, and don't sit still for hours at a time. If you're in an office job where sitting for long periods is required, get up every 2 hours and do some leg stretches for a min or so. Don't wear super tight clothing on your legs. Don't eat too many salty foods.
well i know fish thins blood so maybe have fish once a week to minimise risk :)
