Title: What's the difference between a binder and a compression shirt?

Can you use a c.shirt as a binder?

Just out of curiosity.

Yes, a binder is a shirt or a top that "compresses" your chest,.. which is basically the same thing as a compression shirt.

Compression shirts don't bind as much as a binder would. If you have small boobs you might get away with it.

When I think of a compression shirt, I think of a baseball players under armor compression shirt.  Not a whole lot of compression, just something thats a little snug to hug the muscles and keep them tight and warm.  A binder is a whole different story.  It fits much tighter and really binds the breasts to the chest, making them somewhat flat.  They are much harder to get into as well.  Like one of the other posters said, with a compression shirt and small boobs you might get away with it.  But if you have bigger breasts, a binder would work a bit better for you.

Agreeing with most of the guys here.

Compression shirts and binders are very different.

I use a football compression shirt, I'm a B cup and I use three sportsbras under the compression shirt, I then fold the compression shirt up once and then back down. I'm not flat, but it helps. I'm considering a binder though, but might still use my compression shirt around the house on those days where I need my chest to breathe a little more.

Compression shirt is a shirt that compresses some, but does not restrict breathing. So you can wear it while playing sports.
I wore these instead of a binder. I was a small A.

A binder is a contraption that can sometimes require 2 people, a prayer and lots of luck to get into, but once you're in there you'll know the difference between a binder and a compression shirt.  :P

Compression shirts are made to compress and are used for sports. Typically they're not meant to bind breasts though.

Binders are typically made for men with Gynecomastia, which is essentially what people would call "man-boobs", or men who want to look slimmer. So they're made for binding, and that's why they bind so well.
