Title: Awkward questions about metoidioplasty.
Post by: A Lad Insane on September 14, 2011, 04:22:08 PM
I'm not gonna have bottom surgery any time soon but I'm definitely set on getting metoidioplasty as soon as it's possible. But I have a couple of questions that I can't seem to find any answers to anywhere.

First, can you get erect and if so, does it happen just like for bioguys? Like, does it get bigger?

And also, could it pass as a micropenis? Like, if someone asks why it's so small, and you said that you have a condition called micropenis.

AND at last, if you take testosterone early will that give you a bigger result than if you start T later in life?

I'll take a stab at this.  Please keep in mind that I'm only speaking from my personal experience on this.  Others' experiences may vary.  You might consider joining the Yahoo FTMMetoidioplasty group to get more thoughts on the subject.

I can get erect.  It gets a little bigger, but mostly it just gets firmer and stands out more.  It does not have the large size increase that some cis-males have (I say some because there are cis-males who don't have a marked size increase--called 'showers' rather than 'growers').  I don't think it gets as hard as a cis-male's penis but I've never felt one, so I can't be sure--this is hearsay from other guys who have been able to directly compare.

Depending on what surgery is done (I'm thinking at least a release and testicular implants, possibly scrotal fusion) I think it could definitely pass as a micropenis once healing is complete and scars fade.  Most people aren't super familiar with what a metoidioplasty surgery looks like as it is, and comparing some meta results with photos of cis-males with micropenis--I think they look pretty darn close.

No clue.  I started T at 22 and my surgeon described my growth as 'average'.  I doubt there have been any scientific studies conducted on this topic that could yield a definitive answer.

Yes, it get's erect, and it's very noticeable.
No, when you begin T has no effect on it's size - it's genetics.
Yes, a very good result could pass as a micropenis from a distance.

Yes, it gets erect and yes it is noticeable.  IMO it does not get as hard as a standard issue penis as there isn't the corpus cavernosum to fill and get hard.  I can see and feel a difference.  I could not penetrate anyone with it.

Yes, it passes as a penis. A very small penis.  Mine passed a physical exam by a doctor before I came out to him. IMO a mons resection would help me; so would losing 30 pounds.

I'm not sure age matters, unless you start T at puberty.  Even then, I think genetics play a role and it likely won't be that much bigger.  FWIW I had a teeny weenie clit that was barely visible.  Serioulsy tiny.  I am now 1" soft and just shy of 3 hard, with the diameter of a slender finger.  Do I wish it were bigger? Absolutely.  But I'll take it.  It's better than the alternative (F parts) (for me).
