You can make changes to your preferences when you gain the ability to modify your profile.  You get that at 15 posts, so looks like you're almost there. :)

Your email address already is invisible. It is only visible to you, none of the rest of us can see it (except moderators). If it's in italics, it's hidden from all members except you.
