Cambridge's first transgender mayor and mayoress have tied the knot – and entered a civil partnership together.
Former city councillors Jenny Bailey and her partner Jennifer Liddle, both of whom were born as boys but went through gender reassignment later in life, made history when Ms Bailey was chosen as first citizen of the city in 2007.
Ms Liddle served as her consort during her year of office, after which Ms Bailey stepped down as a councillor.

BRITAIN'S first sex-swap mayor has tied the knot with her partner – who has also undergone a sex swap – in a civil ceremony.
Jenny Bailey, 49, made history in 2007 when, after changing from male to female, she was sworn in as Cambridge mayor by fellow councillors.
But just one year after winning the post she stepped down from the role to spend more time with her partner Jennifer Liddle, 53, who was also born male. The former councillors had gender reassignment surgery before they fell in love as women.
They're a lovely pair of women - I met them a few years ago, when I lived round the corner from them and they held a meeting at their house to liaise with the local community police officer over trouble some of us had been having with violent teenagers. Jolly good show, as we say in England :).
