I have no idea why disasters happen to me.
This evening I'm on line to my sister VM. I tell her I'm baking a cake, for a friends event. Raspberry and Coconut; found a cute recipe and I intend to ice and decorate it, Geez, good idea Tonto. Yes Keemazabe.
So I get the ingredients together and warm the oven, fold in all the stuff and then come to the bit that says, fold in the frozen raspberries. No problems I take them out of the pack, and they are frozen I'll thaw them out so I toss them in the oven for a few seconds. Ahmmm plastic bags and 180C ovens are not compatible. Rip it out of the oven and I have a floor of semi thawed raspberries. I stand in them. That was a good idea thinks brain, who had been quite quiet until that moment. Hop says brain. Body doesn't always agree with brain but we hop. Raspberrys seem to crush on being hopped on. The floor starts to look like an Al Capone cooking festival. I walk to the lounge to get the mop. The beige carpet has interesting footprints. I tell VM I'm an idiot. She agrees.
I decide not to use the raspberries on the floor for my cake. Brain wanted to, Cindy didn't; we argued and for once Cindy won. Brain decided to go back to sleep with the help of a glass of wine. Not mentioning that the cooking time was 20 mins and then changes temp. Ha says Cindy, I can keep time. Now when did I put it on?

I've had some cooking disasters.. None quite like that though..
I would say, life always reminds us about what good times look like by offering us a hard day. I once tried marble cake and the result was stone coal... So I'd say you're better off with the al capone kitchen look...
You'd love my electric range and oven Cindy. Takes 10 minutes for any change in temperature to take effect. >:(

No need for wood. Like everything in Tassie it is run by electrickery! Even the Govt used to be run by "The Hydro(electric Commission)".
Had a great weekend, and looking forward to this week. 1st French class at Adult Ed to lay a bit of groundwork for Uni next year.

it's good as long as it was fun. my own worst cooking disaster (actually a trap set by my mom and triggered by my daughter) taught me that boiled skin comes off easily, and now i've got a nice scar on my foot to remind me never to put water boilers in places they can easily fall down from
Today's lesson was that if you decide to use a muffin pan to make rolls with the left over gluten-free batter for the loaf of bread, they will not take nearly as long to bake as a loaf. They will instead add a new meaning to the term "rock cakes". :o And smoke out the whole house. >:(

I've had some interesting cooking fails, one involving enchiladas, but this one made me laugh. Sorry Cindy, it wouldn't have been funny in person. But (especially with the way you worded it) it was hilarious here. :)
