Title: Shedding caused by Estrogen?
Post by: Sianna on September 29, 2011, 04:38:37 AM
So i have been on hormones for about 4 1/2 months. Before starting i had some problems with hairloss. After starting, I noticed that less hair was falling out. Until now. About 2 Weeks ago i noticed more and more hair falling out again; after a shower, on my pillow etc...

As far as I can tell, my hormone values are ok. Low testosterone, Low free T, good E values. I suspect there can't be enough T to be converted to DHT.

I also noticed some new hairs in the front of my head. So far, so good. But why is my hair falling out?

Is it possible I shed my hair because I grow new hair because of estrogen?

I've heard this mentioned here before (more usually in connexion with dutasteride/finasteride) that there's some loss of existing hair as new hair begins to come through. Yes, keep an eye on it, though.
