As my spouse is female bodied and on T, there are threads in the FTM boards that catch my eye.
As I am sitting right here and watching T change my spouse and I have a unique perspective on FTM/FTA transition I figure I might have some valid input.
I certainly hope I am not steping on any toes...

It's nice getting other perspectives.
I've always understood it as more of an area for FTM related topics rather than specifically for FTMs.
I just realised, don't you ftm's have another forum that's super secret and restricts mtf's? :o We have one too, :P although I never post anything in it because I figured the topic would just get less counts.

In the Just for Us section? I wouldn't really know since I don't actually pay much attention to who all replies where. A human opinion is a human opinion to me, so I don't much mind where in the gender spectrum said opinion is coming from. Now if it were a cat commenting on my posts,

But seriously, sometimes I just need time away from girl issues and seeing what the boys are going through can offer a different perspective on the problems that are shared by everyone here.

I also tend to look up for the other sections mtf and so on.
I guess it good to know alittle more than just around yourself, in that way I can also help my mtf friends alittle more.
I'm one to use the "Show unread posts since last visit" function of the forums. As long as I have access to a section I see the posts for that section.
There's been a few times where I've seen posts in the FtM section and it's like O.O hey I can help with that!!! so I'll post.
Though I would love nothing more then to never have had the experience of growing up male, it makes me feel a little better when I can help someone on the FtM side with an issue. And honestly it's a great feeling when I've actually helped someone.
Granted... I'm not much help with binders packers and StP's ... but I can at least help here and there.

Yeah I think even thought we are diffrent then we are very simular so there are still points we can help.
I might not have the same strugles as mtf but if you turn it opposite I often have because we are in the same situations.
I think just sharing the same situation of being born in the wrong body is enough to be able to help in certain situations.
Replying when relevant makes sense to me. I don't think a trans woman who isn't an SO would know about things like order of changes on T, or experiences with gynecologists (as examples).

I'm a cis guy who's friend/partner is a female crossdresser and I came here just for info on packers and a few other things. Lurked for a while and was a bit worried this was for FTM's only but it's really helpful to hear different peoples perspectives on it.
Happy to know how open the forum is to everyone :)

just don't say your offensive beliefs and your welcome :) everyone should know and spread the word about the fact are not some mental diagnoses in a doctors book :) we are just normal girls and boys :)

I don't mind ladies posting in guys' topics..To me it doesn't just have to be for FtM's. I think everyone should be able to put in their input on any topics. Though I think the hidden sub-forums for FtM's, MtF's and androgynous are a good thing once in a while
Keep in mind there is so much that FTM and MTF have in common.
Also the FTM know all the girly stuff us MTF types never got clued into and the MTF have allot of knowledge on the aspects of male culture that FTM didn't get a chance to learn.
This is why I always advocate for mixed groups when I get involved in IRL groups.

Same here. I love it when the trans meetings that I go to aren't all one group of people like only MTF's, only FTM's, or only andros (sorry I always screw up the spelling when I spell the whole word). I prefer when there is a balance so that the conversation isn't the same one every time.
To answer the OP- Doesn't bother me any, you gals have a lot of great things to add. I read a lot of the posts on the MTF forum too because it helps me to better see things from my female friend's point of view. If I have something highly personal I'll post it in the just for us but that's pretty rare.

I don't mind unless I've started a thread in which I've made it quite clear that I only want feedback from the guys or from guys with particular experiences. Comment away. I'm always sticking my nose into the women's forums...
i just did that accidentally :laugh: it was a very unisex topic, so i guess they don't mind. anyway, it gets tiresome after a while hearing about stuff like electrolysis, breasts, and vaginas.
Sometimes too, you look at the stuff that the other gender's are talking about and you get it, or you think "oooh thats why.."
But to the outside world, people would think "that's so messed up." But for us it's just how things are and we accept that and roll with it. Where else can you find a thread where the guy's are having a serious discussion about tampon and maxi pad usage and it not turn into a flame war or troll-fest? Oh ya! I forgot the original reason I was gonna post in there in the first place!
And I know that my experiences living as a male can help someone else somehow. I know I would welcome input from those who had lived as a female.

I have a very hard time irl remembering that certain things are for certain genders only, and which things are for what gender. There's another vote for sure go ahead. I've probably posted on MtF stuff without even thinking about it. Lol I hope I was respectful enough when I did.
As long as your are polite then go for it.
I've never had any problems in posting anywhere on the boards.
The way I've looked at it is that wisdom is wisdom and doesn't matter who it comes from.
Just remember this is a place of understanding and love.
