Does anyone know if I will get used to the drug and the stomach aching will stop?
I have an allergy to salycilates so it could be the peppermint and maize starch in it that is casuing my achy belly.
[dosage removed]
Sometimes ill get upset and nautious when taken on an empty stomach.

I think it goes away eventually except on an empty stomach. My first week on spiro was pretty bad.
yes I know what you mean it happens to me usually when I swallow the pills on an empty stomach I'd suggest that you eat spiro with some food it seems to dilute the impact it has somwhat.

I only took it once. yesterday but now i'm scared to take it again because the stomach pain. What was it like? For me it's a really bad ache. It's not somthing i can put up with. This is not a little bit sick that can be stopped by eating something.

It could also be nerves. You are entering a new phase in your life that could be permanent and you are scared inside. This is probably why your stomach is acting up. It took me over 35 years to get the b***s to take the *BLEEPING* HRT! A lot of worries and what ifs in that time. Try eating something BEFORE taking the spiro. And a large glass of water after! Serious!

I ate tums like crazy and that didn't do anything. I ate all sorts of food and that didn't help either. it was a belly ache and bloating at the same time for about a week. But it did work its self out. Your body just has to get used to the medication and the lack of testosterone.
Now I get my own 'time of the month' that's not a belly ache per se. It's lower than where I usually have a stomach ache but not as bad and I feel bloated for about 5 days and then I get pretty bitchy for 2 or 3 days and then I'm back to normal. I dont think it's the medication its self, I think it's my body doing it. It's a very interesting experience that I've yet to understand.
But getting through that first week was tough. If you want to transition badly enough, I guess you'll go through hell to get it done.

yes! and not just a potato chip because you are watching your figure either. It needs to be something substantial. I'll take mine with a hot pocket or cereal.
Oh, and Spiro will make you thirsty as heck and give you more cramping than you're ever used to. So I tend to drink a lot of Powerade all day long. And you'll need to pee a lot more.

Yes, I forgot that. I have GERD as well, but the TUMS did quell that. I just did the 14 day Previcid as the doc ordered and the GERD is down as well. This has not affected my Spiro usage. It was a cool day today and I was still sweating a lot from my scalp and forehead whilst waxing my truck, something I have not experienced in the past. I had to move back and wipe quite a bit, I didn't want any sweat on the finish!
Now to get my body a much needed waxing!

*nods* until I started HRT I never used to sweat so much that it ran down my forehead.
I am currently suffering from stomach cramps I had it for 3-4 days now it feel rally tight Under the belly button and lower I am 2 month in to my HRT tho and have had no problmes till now .
You need to call or go see your doctor about this. Sounds like your having a problem if it's staying around and getting worse.

Sometimes, taking Spiro with food can help.
I always have it with food
It is less painfull today than it was the previous daya you think it will go away on ita on and I'm getting late pain (some said they got there's during first week)
It is unfortunate that you are having these side effects. I have been on spiro for over a month and have had to such effect. My endo recommended taking the meds with food so I take them at Breakfast. I still have 'light headiness' at times and have to watch that. I know that if I overly exert myself during a tennis match, I need to stop and take a few deep breaths. This only takes a minute or so.
I keep an eye on my goal. This is my first step. Next is adding low dosage E! Hopefully this will be in about one month.
All the best to you all!
My cramps have gone away now yay
Sprio is supposed to be taken with food. My bottle has had the "Take with Food" sticker everytime I've got the prescription filled. Take it with a proper meal and drink more water than you ever did before.
Regularly I take my pills in the morning with a protein shake and then straight 6 hours in class with basically an empty stomach and I haven't feel anything different with it, actually far away from cramps and stuff.
