Title: Is anyone else slow at growing facial hair?
Post by: Monster on October 10, 2011, 05:51:10 PM
I've been on T over 2 years now and I yet to grow much facial hair! It's pathetic really. I'm not naturally hairy, I have grown quite a bit on my legs and got the happy trail.. But as far as my face just not enough. I'm nearly 30 yet I still look 18 which I shudnt complain I know, but I wud like to look like a man rather then a little boy.. Plz tell me I'm not the only guy here..

I'm hairy almost everywhere but my face. My chest is pretty covered, my stomach, my butt, thighs, etc. Face...not so much.

Granted, I'm at 11 months...and originally was close to hairless (including on my legs).

A different form of testosterone is used. You guys have nebido or sustanon while we have non blended T. You get a mix of different esters while we get one.

Males typically don't start getting much facial hair til they've already been in puberty for 4-5 years, a full bear/body hair can take upwards of 10-15 years past the start of puberty.

You're going through the same process. Don't worry about it, some dudes just naturally don't have facial hair, it's genetics.

What's the difference in effect, if any?

Been on t for a year. I have some thin, light brown upperlip hair. And some thin, blonde, centimeter length chin hairs. It's thin, but evenly spaced. But yeah, slow growing, but it's slowly coming along.

Yea I just got peach fuzz really, mostly blonde with some black thick hairs around me chin neck and upper lip.. I shave once or twice a week, but only cuz I hear it helps it grow and also it looks odd to let the few hairs grow.

Hey Monster,

Im in the Uk too,and have also been on T just over 2 years.
I shave my chin a couple times a week because literally over the past few months, some thick black hairs (which Im so proud of) have properly sprouted. About 30 now, but sparse. Other than that, nothing. No jawline or cheek hairs, or sideburns. My upper lip hair is like fine arm hair.
It has been frustrating but recently I have seen some pleasing improvements.
I was on Sustanon for the first 8 months, now Nebido (every 12 weeks) if that helps/makes any difference.

I understand the frustration but Im sure in time, we will all be able to grow our fit beards haha.

I'm a Native American and the only hair I have on my body is on top of my head and in the downstairs region.  If I want hair on my face, I have to glue it on!  Oh well, I'm proud to be Native tho!

Going through male puberty i can tell you that i did not have to shave once until i was in late teens/early twenties and now at 38 i had to shave 3 times a day. I am on my 4th laser session and it has made a dent although a VERY small one. Though by 17 my back and neck you could hide a small human in.

So by my mid thirties I may be able to grow some proper hair!  :D till then I'm destined to look 18

The reason I changed from sustanon, which I had every 4 weeks, because I got onto a programme to do voluntary work abroad for 10 weeks. Since it was in a poor and rural village, there was no way I could get my injections (And I havent been taught to self inject), so I moved to nebido to last me for the whole time away, and I have stayed on this out of ease.
Although the actual injection takes longer, I dont find it that painful and it certainly is better than travellingto my DRs every few weeks :p

Oh wow I thought everyone self injected. I definitely plan to. I had to with depo and it made me squeamish, but I figure with practice injecting T will be easier.

I thought everyone did too but when I asked the nurse to teach me she point blank refused to teach me and looked at me as if I was nuts to ask such a thing, so I didn't argue.. I figured she just wanted to see my bum every few weeks LMAO
