Title: bad habbits die hard
Post by: jessicas37 on October 12, 2011, 08:07:23 AM
About five years ago i quit smoking and never looked back. Recently as i have started to go out more and to the bars(i have been doing alot

of drag shows it is sooooo fun) I have noticed that i have alot of trouble breathing with all the smoke in the air. So last friday i smoked a cig

and the smoke no longer bothered me. Now i am back at 3 a day 1 in morning,1 at lunch and 1 before bed i dont have craving for more and

this really helps me to get by at club better and my eyes dont water in the smoke anymore. My question is, I know smoking is bad for you

(DUH!) and being on HRT is a double whammey but would this small amount REALLY have that bad of a negative impact? just wondering i

know the right thing to do would be 0 a day but i have finally found a place i throughly enjoy going to and look forward to my

friday/saturday night all week long.....

I think smoking that little wouldn't be that harmful (but I'm definitely not a doctor!), but the biggest risk is that you'll start smoking more and more again as time goes on, eventually being back to how much you smoked before you quit.

At least that's what happens to a lot of people I know. They always say that they don't smoke a lot, definitely no more than 5 a day ... or some even only when they go out. Thing is, a year later I see them smoking just as much as everyone else.

I smoke...I tend to take aspirin though to prevent clotting.

ABSOLUTELY !!!! combine this with the passive smoking from the clubs on 2 nights at say, 4 hours a night = an additional 8 hours per week. It's a known fact that the passive smoke is sometimes MORE toxic than the cigarette itself.
Please look after your health. It's really that important. We want you around - for a long time.
Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa luv

Smoking while on HRT (taking any form of Estrogen) is very dangerous. Talk to your doc for more info... but you increase your chance for blood clots exponentially.

I don't do it that often... I do enjoy smoking though. Just in moderation...

Cut down slowly and deliberately, and don't allow yourself to "indulge" in an extra when you're trying to make your way down to zero.  Go from three cigarettes, to 2.75, to 2.5, to 2.25, to 2.  Give yourself as many days as you need at a specific number, but never go above the number you went the day before.  When you're ready to make the step down, do so.
