Title: Getting my letter
Post by: Wesley_33 on October 13, 2011, 02:11:39 PM
So my online therapist agreed today to write my letter. It will be in the mail beginning of next week. I'm so damn happy. Next step the VA to get things rolling

ah nice one, I've been around Newcastle area. Bet I could guess where you are specifically  >:-) Yup, I'm originally from a different part of the UK (Northern Ireland) but I'm studying in Edinburgh (well just outside of) at the minute

I take it you went private for counselling? I'm having some therapy on the NHS atm but it's not specifically for gender stuff (although she is very interested in the matter so it seems dominant right now) :)

You all have no idea how happy I am now. If I could do back flips I would.  ;D ;D

Sorry VA is Veterans Affairs here in the US.

Yes the lady I do online therapy is $40 a session. I've been seeing her since Aug. She's mad cool. I chose online since I knew I was moving and didn't want to have to change people. Bradd if you want to know more send PM.

I have a knowledge of places around that area, that's all :p I'll guess a few places though; durham, yarm, morpeth, sunderland?

Really? whereabouts? and yeah Edinburgh is great, I actually study on the outskirts but I travel in to the city often for clinical placement and social stuff. Come visit someday. Without sounding creepy, you'd be more than welcome to come up here and I'll show you around.

I understand your desperation mate, I feel like self-referring  to the GIC in Glasgow   :-\

sorry for derailing your thread Wes dude  :embarrassed: It's really cool that you have such a good relationship with your therapist, hope the good feeling lasts!

it was a rough area for i was only 21 and skint at the time, well very skint and i lived on Ebore Street i think thats how its spelled.. was indeed extreamly ROUGH. Some bombs kept getting set off near my house that i was renting and well me being American and not use to bombs so close to my living accommodations pretty much scared the crap out of me, so needless to say i ran back to England lol :P
may take u on that offer some day...

I feel I must clue the other people in, that might be reading this, that it really is better nowadays  :embarrassed: thankfully i've lived in a relatively quiet area all my life and never so much as been in a bombed area (at the time of a bomb scare I mean) but there has been some turbulent times definitely but thankfully it is mostly now in the past

I have to say, I prefer living in Scotland/ England myself though but it's for other reasons :p

Just a quick note guys, check that your doc will accept a letter from an online therapist before you go through the process, because I did online and got my letter that way only to be turned down by the doctors here because they didn't think it was good enough.
